Fandom: the fans of a particular person, team, fictional series, etc., regarded collectively as a community or subculture
Fandom? Fandom is a pretty powerful thing ladies and gentleman. Anything can happen when there's a goal out there to achieve.
Now let me tell you the events of a fandom from this past week.
Have you ever seen ER? Supernatural? Once Upon A Time? If you have, you may know the correlating actor. The one and only Gil McKinney!
Now, Gil McKinney is already a well established actor, with many credits under his belt. But not only is he a talented actor, he's also an extremely talented singer.
Here, let me provide you with some samples.
For years we have been begging Mr. McKinney to put out his own album. Years. And finally.
Finally we got the tweet.
He was going to make his first album, all we had to do as a fandom was fund the $12,000 goal. Now, when this tweet was first sent out, I was going to write an article about the campaign itself, that way it possibly could get the word out so we could get the money raised.
This is where fandom comes in, and that article idea was no longer possible.
Barely a day later:
Within the first 24 hours, all the money had been raised.
Holy shizballs ladies and gents! That's incredible!
Fandom people. Fandom. It can be pretty powerful.
The world is finally going to be graced with a Gil McKinney album.
Congrats to Gil. Because he definitely deserves it.
As of this moment, $15,033 has been raised of a $12,000 goal. And there's still 28 days left to go. If you would like to donate and become a backer, click here! There are perks included too!
