Just Do It!

Success...what does it mean to you? Is it being a millionaire? Is it being famous and owning a huge mansion? Is it the satisfaction of your peers, knowing that they approve of you? What makes you tick? This is my question to you the audience.

Anybody can be successful, I don't care how you were brought up, I don't care where you are financially, stop making excuses and get up and get what you deserve. As I sit here as a Junior at a University, I look back at the years I was here and I am just now doing what I've always wanted to do. I'm here to tell you that it is never too late, you can go after your dreams, you just have to take the first step.

Stop saying, and start doing...

I've heard so many people over the years talk about "Oh I'm going to do this and that" or you hear the infamous "New year, New Me." Don't plan when you are going to start your journey to success, START NOW! There's someone thousands of miles away with the same dream or goal as you, are you gonna let them take your dream? Are you just gonna let them take your success, as if it was like taking candy from a baby? HECK NO! Go for your dreams, life is way too short to just be sitting and doing nothing.

Do you want It hard enough?

I tell my friends all the time, you have to want success as badly as you want to breathe. The moment you have that mindset, is the first step in getting towards your goals. Most people are afraid what people will think of them, I'm asking for once in your life, BE SELFISH. That's right I said it, be selfish. I'm going to say it like this, nobody is going to want to achieve your goals the way you do, so go after them. Myself on one hand, I always cared what people thought about me, and it deterred me away from my goals. Go after you goals, any means necessary, nobody wants it as bad as you do, remember that.

Self-Motivation..

Plain and simple, you have to be your main source of motivation or I promise you, you will get nowhere. Without self-motivation and a drive to get where you are going you will forever be stalled.

Last but not least..JUST DO IT! Go after your goals, why wait when your obviously ready to shine. Don't be content to where you are, always strive for more.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
