Accept The Never-Ending To Do List

Accept The Never-Ending To Do List

Now that junior year of college is well underway, the schedule is packed and the to-do list growing. Between upper-division classes, work, internships and everything in between, it is easy to get overwhelmed by the constant tornado of tasks.

I've learned that, while it may seem like a good idea to take a day off chilling on the couch or lounging around, nothing could be more wrong. This is no longer freshman year and entry level art history courses; there's no time, anymore, for New Girl Netflix binges and Harry Potter marathon weekends. Every second is taken up, every hour filled. But, honestly, that's okay.

This is the time in our lives when we have the most to prove. The job market waits, over saturated and already mocking every new applicant. Once we're in the real world, hopefully with nine to fives and a decent living wage, there will be plenty of time to catch up on the sleep we missed in college.

For now, it's up to us to go the extra mile every time. Put as much as humanly possible on your plate just to prove to yourself you can do it. This is the one opportunity we have to build up our resumes, get experience in the work field ahead of time, and give our classes everything we can -- of course, procrastination and frazzled all-nighters remain in the mix.

It is stressful to get way less than the minimum hours of sleep, and constantly keep an eye out for the next due date, but in a long-term sense there's no better time to do so. So keep on keepin' on. And, if you're one of those people who can simultaneously study and watch TV, then more power to you and watch New Girl and Harry Potter all you want.

The dynamics of any friend group are usually determined by the personalities which make it up.
