If you had to explain yourself to someone new in 20 words or less, what would you say?

I'm happy as long as I have my dogs, my friends, family, music, caffeine and a bed.

Why did you start writing for Odyssey?

My friend Dani was building a team of writers in the community and asked me if I was interested. I tend to hate when people read things I write, even for school. So I thought that this could help me get over that.

It’s one thing to sign up for an opportunity like this, but it’s another thing to stay committed and give it your all. What has kept you writing for the team?

I have come to love seeing how many shares my articles get each week. It means that people enjoy my articles and that makes me very happy. I consider this a little job and it keeps me busy and helps with due dates.

What would you tell someone who is interested in writing for Odyssey? Any words of wisdom you have? Any warnings?

Write down a bunch of ideas first so that you have a bunch to choose from instead of struggling to come up with ones each week. Try and get them done earlier in the week, it is less stress for you and your editor. Shout out to Dani. Sorry mine are always last minute.

What’s your favorite article that you’ve had published?

I have two favorites, they are the one I wrote about my school and about working in an ice cream shop

Would you ever let someone in your life design a tattoo for you, and would you get the tattoo done without knowing what it was? If so, who and why? If not, why?

I would let my mom design a tattoo for me because I like the way she draws things and I know she knows what I would be willing to put on my body. If it were by someone that I knew very well yes or even by a tattoo artist. Any of my friends that can draw decently sounds bad but I say this because I trust them not to

Which TV show or movie cast do you wish you could be a part of?

Lie To Me because I would love to have a job where I tell if someone is lying. Being a psychology major I love everything that happens in that show. I say this as I am re-watching episodes for the fifth time. I love the idea of reading people's emotions and telling if they are lying or not.

If you could live in any time period, when would you choose? Why?

I would love to live in the 50s. I choose the 50s because that's when comic strips were still a cool thing to read like the peanuts comic strip. The clothing style I am in love with from the 50s like the bathing suits and regular clothes. I always see pictures of people going on dates in the 50s and I wish it was something that still happened the way it is in the pictures.

Which fashion trend of the past or present makes you cringe the most? Which one do you wish stayed around or became more popular?

Knee high converse make me cringe so do the same colored jumpsuits. I wish I knew what trend I wish stayed around.

Would your five-year-old self be happy with your current career choice? Or did you have a different idea of what you wanted to do when you were younger?

I think my five-year-old self would be a little upset that I am not working with animals or being a vet. I had my heart set on being a vet until I got to my psychology class my junior year of high school.

What are you most looking forward to in the next year?

Being at school with my friends. As cheesy as it sounds I can't wait for some classes next year. I am so excited to go to dinner with my group of friends and out little movie nights.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
