It's All About Who You Know

The truth is though no matter how much you know, how much knowledge you have in your brain, if you don’t know God, you don’t have anything.

Anyone ever heard the saying, ‘It’s not about what you know, it’s about who you know.”? Well that my friends, is the goll dang truth. You can know all the facts in the world, b+mx-c, seven different forms of the word “be” or the chemical combustion of creating Cheetos (I don’t know if that’s a thing but if it is and you know it, good for you.) The truth is though no matter how much you know, how much knowledge you have in your brain, if you don’t know God, you don’t have anything.

Growing up I always thought that meant makings sure you have a lot of friends to put in a good word for you, which helps, of course. Or making sure you have always left a lasting impression at your jobs so your employers give you a good reference, also important. Or being the teacher’s pet and a straight A student so you get the best job and your teachers also give you a great reference, equally important.

However, at the end of the day, none of this matters. No matter how many friends you have, they aren’t going to be making the final call. No matter how amazing of an employee you are and how much money you make, that doesn’t matter once you make it to the other side. No matter how hard you study, and cry over your final grade, and lose nights of sleep cramming, none of that matters.

So rather than trying to know everything, and accomplish everything, and be everything, just know God. Know that he is in control. Know that he will be the one getting you through those hard classes, those crappy days at work, and those not so nice friends. In the end, God is the only one you need to KNOW. The rest is up to him. Know God, know peace.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
