South Kingstown, Rhode Island has its own special corner of the world. From the outside looking in, it may seem like a stereotypical small American town, but beneath the surface it is so much.

To my fellow townies: here is an article that will allow you to appreciate everything that surrounds you

A is for (Green Line) Apothecary

It may be new to town, but it's a great addition and it makes you feel like you're back in the 1950's.

B is for Brickley's Ice Cream

Enough said.

C is for (South County) Commons

Oh, the memories. If you don't remember wandering around the commons on Friday nights, it's probably because you blocked it out of your mind.

D is for Dennis Moffitt Painting wall

It changes with the seasons and holidays, and you're always excited to see what will show up next.

E is for El Fuego Mexican Grill

It's all about authenticity...and Taco Tuesday.

F is for Fireworks at OMF

You may not be able to find a place to sit unless you get there hours early, but this Fourth of July celebration definitely brings the town together.

G is for Green Hill

It's just about as far out as you can get before you're not in SK anymore.

H is for Hannah Robinson Tower

Because anything past the tower just isn't worth the trek.

I is for Indian Lake

Home to some of the most breathtaking views in all of Rhode Island.

J is for Jim's Dock

It's the perfect place to go if you don't want to be surrounded by the beach crowd, and the restaurant has some of the best seafood around!

K is for Kingston Station

We may have to go past the tower to find an airport, but at least we don't have to travel far to hop on a train.

L is for Ladies' Night on Main Street

Twice a year, the ladies of SK happily drink wine and blow all of their money on small business shopping.

M is for Mews Tavern

Got beer?

N is for Narragansett Town Beach

Because we think it's ours, even though Gannett townies are always very quick to correct us.

O is for Ocean Mist

Ticket Tuesday!

P is for Phil's Main Street Grille

You can get the best breakfast around for under five dollars.

Q is for Quaint Main Street

We might forget to appreciate it at times, but there's no denying how cute our little town really is.

R is for (SKHS) Rebels

Let's face it, we kick butt in high school athletics.

S is for South Kingstown High School

Give us a yell, give us a yell, give us a good old rebel yell...

T is for Theatre By The Sea

Where else can you watch a live musical performance and still feel the ocean breeze?

U is for University of Rhode Island

Rhody, Rhody, Rhody! (Rams, Rams, Rams!)

V is for Very proud

Proud. Proud to be apart of a town full of kind-hearted people who want to do good things for the world. Proud to be apart of a community that unites when times get tough.

W is for Wakefield Liquors

Cheers!

X is for eXtreme Airsoft

This is definitely a pretty cool aspect of our little corner of the world, and lots of fun, too!

Y is for Yearly Balloon Festival

The festivals in southern Rhode Island during the summer are some of the best, and this one is no exception.

Z is for Zero Wampum

This is the place to go when you need a birthday gift, Mother's Day gift, or any little knick-knack that captures the essence of the oceans state.

If you live in South Kingstown, you know that it's much more than meets the eye. It is filled with tons of hidden secrets and if you're lucky enough to live here, then you're lucky enough!

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
