ABCs Of Thanksgiving Break

After a much needed, refreshing break from school to spend time with family and count blessings, it's back to the grind. Mountains of food, hours of naps and days of travel made for continued traditions and new memories. With full stomachs and happy hearts, we take on the last few days of the fall semester, remembering the ABCs from the good, and the bad, of Thanksgiving break.

A: Attitude

Whenever you get together with friends and family there is bound to be some attitude. Hopefully, everyone had happy, pleasant attitudes but there might have been a little bit of drama.

B: Biscuits

One of the most important parts of Thanksgiving.

C: Cranberry Sauce

Even though no one ever really seems to eat it and it just sits on the table, it's an obligatory Thanksgiving staple.

D: Dressing

OK so it may not be the prettiest food at the table, but boy is it good. If you haven't ever had dressing (or stuffing) with gravy, then you are missing out.

E: Early Morning Shopping

Because Black Friday shopping seems to start earlier and earlier every year.

F: Family

Coming together and taking time to focus on what's really important in life with the ones who love most is the best part of Thanksgiving.

G: Green Beans

I mean you should have at least one thing green on your plate.

H: Hugs

This is to be expected when you gather with friends and family, whether you want the hugs or not.

I: Instantly Regretting How Much You Ate

Wow. Just wow.

J: Justifying How Much You Ate

"I mean what else am I supposed to do? This is the only time of year where we do this."

K: Kitchens

The kitchen is a danger zone around Thanksgiving. If you are not helping then get out, stay out and don't mess with anything until it's time to eat together.

L: Leftovers

Another great thing about Thanksgiving is you have leftovers for a while. Making meals for the next few days is so easy.

M: Mashed Potatoes

OK I lied, the mashed potatoes are actually the best part of Thanksgiving.

N: Naps

Gotta rest up after lunch for dinner.

O: "Oh, I should probably do my homework."

"Eh, actually I'll just do it later."

P: Pies

It's like Heaven in the kitchen.

Q: Questions

"How are your classes?" "Do you like school?" "Have you lost weight?" "What ever happened to (insert name here)?"

R: Realizing It's Later

This is without a doubt, the worst part of Thanksgiving break.

S: Sweet Potato Casserole

*Only eats the marshmallows and cinnamon crumbles off the top*

T: Turkey

Duh.

U: Unbuttoning Your Pants

After a meal like that, your stomach just needs some extra space.

V: Visiting Relatives

Nothing is better than seeing loved ones over the holidays, especially when they make some really good food.

W: Watching Football

Even if you don't care about the sport, football on Thanksgiving is a tradition.

X: XL Baggy Pants

Comfy, cozy and stuffed.

Y: Yuletide Cheer

Thanksgiving is over... It's Christmas time.

Z: Zzzzz

Catching up on some, much needed sleep.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
