This town has been here for God knows how long, some like to call it the town of olives, but most of us just call it MO. This town has its ups and it's down but it has brought many of us so many good, weird, and crazy memories. Here are the ABC's of Mount Olive, New Jersey.

A: The After

If you didn't go to The After, after a big event as a child or even in high school did you really get an education? The After in Mount Olive is always the go to place after any event, I mean why wouldn't you it's name speaks for itself!

B: Budd Lake

You may have swam in this lake and you may have came out with a huge regret, but this lake has been the icon for the best sunset pictures for all of our social media accounts.

C: Clover Hill Drive

If you don't live here already, I'm sure 85 percent of your friends live on this road and the other 15 percent live in Flanders Crossing.

D: Dunkin'

They say America runs on Dunkin, but we all know Mount Olive runs, walks, and breathes Dunkin. I mean we're fortunate enough to have one around every corner.

E: Exxon

You've definitely been here for gas, but you definitely went more than once when the Dunkin was added on to it. And hey let's face it it's usually the next best place one off 206 to get gas.

F: Flanders Bagel

Need I say more? When you come back home for break you and your friends are more than 100 percent likely to meet up at Flanders Bagel to get your good old Taylor Ham, Egg, and Cheese on plain bagel without fail.

G: Gold's Gym

More expensive, but the place to be. Once the Gold's Gym in Flanders opened right next to the ShopRite every teenager and their mother was pumped. Especially the moms cause now grocery shopping and going to the gym was made easy.

H: Hot Bagels

They think they're better than Flanders bagel, but hot bagels is a good majority of the population of Flanders last resort when it comes to getting our Taylor Ham, Egg, and Cheeses.

I: ITC

What would we do without our lovely International Trade Center? It has everything. Walmart, Lowes, Michael's, TJMaxx, Old Navy, Panera, and so much more. It's the mini mall that you know you use when you just can't make it to Rockaway.

J: The joggers aka the cross country team

Without fail you will drive by the cross country team at least once if not twice. This team has been killing the game for MOHS for the past couple of years and they definitely don't have an off-season.

K: Kings Village

If you don't already live here, you know at least 10-15 people that do. Kings Village is conveniently located off of Wolfe Road and just down the road from the middle school. Great place to live in a great location.

L: Larrie Reynolds

We can't forget good ol' Larrie Reynolds. Superidentent for the Mount Olive School District and the man who gives you the yay or nay for snow days and two hour delays.

M: MOHS and MOMS

Mount Olive High School and Mount Olive Middle School, both places that are doing big things everyday. We can't forget the day we realized as child that the middle school's acronym spelled MOMS. And let us also not forget in the words of Kevin Stansberry, "The choice is yours"

N: The Newspaper

Mount Olive carries various newspapers such as The Mount Olive News, The Mount Olive Chronicle, The Daily Record, and The Star-Ledger. If you haven't been featured in one of these papers you definitely know someone that has (hopefully for good reasons).

O: Oakwood Village

Another place that if you don't already live there you definitely know or have known someone who's lived here. And as time progressed you slowly bur surely only referred to it as "Oakwood"

P: PAC at MOHS

The Performing Arts Center at Mount Olive High School is hands down one of the best in Morris County. Hundreds of performances have hit the stage of our beloved PAC and we cherish it so dearly. If you have not seen a show here yet, definitely look into one soon!

Q: Quarterlies

If you went through quarterlies during your time at MOHS, you know the struggle of preparing for these exams in high school...safe to say that to this day they will forever haunt me.

R: Route 206

This lovely mini highway connects us to all of our favorite places in Mount Olive, but it also gets us to places outside of it. Connecting us to major highways such as Route 80 and Route 287, and of course gets us down the shore as well :).

S: Skyzone

The newest piece to our lovely township, Skyzone the indoor trampoline park was opened in March and has everyone one jumping for joy (literally). If you haven't gotten the chance to check out this awesome new edition to MO check it out on their website at: skyzone.com/mountolive

T: Turkey Brook Park

Whether you've been here for sporting events, the MO Carnival, or just went to take a walk Turkey Brook Park is the perfect place for all things recreational. But as a MO native most of us just call it Turkey Brook.

U: Utterly entertaining

Without fail there is always something going on here in MO. Whether it be a sporting event, a scandal, or Sombrero Man you will never be board when it comes to things to hear and things to do in MO.

V: Valentinos

Hands down one of the best pizzas around. Valentinos cooks up creations that are perfect in favor and just enough pizza dough. Without fail you will end up here for pizza at least once...a week :).

W: Wolfe Road

This lovely road carries MOMS, Kings Village, and just connects by the MO police department. Many events take place on and off this road, and many tough memories are here as well. Rest in peace, Nick and Neal, but this road is a well known spot in MO and always will be.

X: "X" marks the spot

Although the sign on 206 may say otherwise about where Flanders and Mount Olive is, Mount Olive is in a great location that connects us to so many different places in the area and outside of it.

Y: You sometimes hate it, but you'll always love it

We cannot deny it that there are days when we find ourselves saying "I hate Mount Olive," but without fail there will be that moment that makes us super proud to live in this area and call it our home.

Z: Zero tolerance

Whether it be zero tolerance for drugs or alcohol or zero tolerance for b.s. we're Mount Olive and we are the only ones who can talk badly about our town and will not accept it when others try and badmouth our town.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
