Arctic

If you're from the South or out West you better get ready for the winter. Get a pair of Sorel snow boots and a pair of Uggs along with a North Face jacket to prepare for the cold. December through February the weather can be as low as -2 degrees.

Bruins

Love hockey?? Take the T to North Station and catch a Bruins game. Lead by Captain Chara, the Bruins are one of the original six hockey teams in the NHL. Although they haven't been doing too good within the past few years, they did win the Cup in 2011. It's about time they win again, maybe while we are here at school they will win another!

Celtics

Larry Bird. Everyone knows the name. Number 33 for the Celtics back in the 80s. If you're a fan of basketball, you can get tickets cheap! Stubhub offers last minute tickets and you can get them for as low as $15 each!

Dunkin Donuts

Even though there isn't one on campus, a walk to the Gulf station or Longwood Galleria doesn't take that long. Get your coffee to get through the long day ahead of you, and when the Patriots win you get an 87 cent coffee! Can't be that.

Eventful

There is always something go on! At least once a week a residence hall is planning an event for everyone or your floor is having an ice cream or taco night. The JYC usually has an event going on at night or you can catch a speaker in the Library Lecture Hall during activity period.

Fenway Cash

As a part of the Colleges of the Fenway, Emmanuel College uses Fenway cash. Fenway Cash is money you load onto your ID and can use at places off campus. Fenway cash can be used at local restaurants including Chipotle, Boloco, and Panera Bread. It can also be used at Star Market and the Starbucks inside as well.

Gardner Museum

Right down the street is the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum. If you're looking for something to do, there is always an exhibit you can go check out.

House of Blues

In walking distance to the campus, the House of Blues has a variety of shows and concerts throughout the year. Get together with a bunch of your friends and go see a concert!

Ice Cream

What is better than having an ice cream station in the dining hall??

Jean Yawkey Center

From classrooms, workout center, gymnasium, and dining hall. The JYC has everything you can think of. Hangout with friends or do homework upstairs, there is always something to do in there if you're bored and want something to do you can probably find someone else too!

Kenmore Square

You know you are in Boston when you see the Citgo sign. The Citgo sign is located in Kenmore Square. Also in Kenmore is the largest bookstore in Boston, BU's 6 story Barnes and Noble.

Liberal Arts

The amount of times you hear the term "Liberal Arts College" when walking around campus is crazy. Liberal Arts is great if you have no idea what you want to do in the future. You can venture through the sciences, arts or business fields. You will eventually find something that interests you.

Muddy River

When first touring Emmanuel, you probably remember all of the construction going on across the Fenway. Now you look out of your dorm or when walking down Fenway and you see the sight of the Muddy River. Beautiful to look at, and the perfect Instagram picture.

Netflix

Binge watching series that you never got to start from the beginning because you started watching in the middle of the season back in 2010? Pretty Little Liars, One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls and FRIENDS are popular series that everyone on campus is watching! Once a week get together with your friends and watch a movie, or start watching a series together, if you want a low key night put some Netflix on and call it a night!

Ortiz

Ortiz has become one of the biggest names in Boston history. The legendary Big Papi who just retired from the Boston Red Sox in 2016 lead the team to 3 World Series titles since 2004. He now has a bridge named after him right outside of Fenway Park.

Patriots

Everyone who goes to school in Boston must know who the Patriots are. Tom Brady leads the team each week to another victory. For the past several years, we have made it to the AFC Championship and in 2015 we won the Super Bowl. You can watch in the lounge with a group of friends, or it is always on in the JYC every Sunday, Monday, or Thursday!

Quad

At the beginning of the school year many events occur here such as the COF Block Party and the Student Involvement Fair. Now it is where students meet before going to class, or they sit and eat lunch outside while it is still nice out. The view of the quad from the second floor of the JYC is great for a VSCO picture.

Red Sox

Going to school in the Fenway area, everyone has seen or been to Fenway Park. This is where the Red Sox play, whether you take a stroll down Yawkey Way or get student discount tickets, you can always count on the Red Sox to give you a fun time.

Superfans

Become an EC Superfan! Attend all the sporting events wearing your best Gold and Blue to support your fellow classmates and their teams!

The T

To get around the area to see different parts of the city, you just have to hop on the train. Or if you're from Boston you call it "The T." Buy a charlie card at Star Market and hop on at the Fenway stop. You can take the T to the Prudential for some shopping, Haymarket to walk around Faneuil Hall and the North End, or switch over to the Blue Line and go to the Aquarium.

Uber

Pretty sure you have all heard of the song "Uber Everywhere." Living in the city, if you cannot get to your destination by foot or train, you call an uber. Much cheaper than a cab and you can even pool with someone going to a location that is on the way your destination to save more money.

Venmo

Going out to eat with your friends and they won't let you all pay with your debit cards? Get the app venmo! It lets you send money to a friends account so you can pay with one card but all put money in!

Walking

Everything is within walking distance of campus. Whether you want to get a coffee, new clothes, or groceries, there is a Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Marshalls, Target, and Star Market within a 5 minute walk. You can also walk to Newbury St for a better selection of stores and restaurants which is a little further down if you follow Boylston!

Xfinity Center

In Mansfield MA, the xfinity center is a great outdoors concert venue! From having many country concerts and hip hop concerts throughout the summer they start as early as the spring and run into the fall. If you want to see your favorite artist perform, check it out!

Yoga

Every Tuesday and Thursday Yoga Club meets in Avenue Commons from 7-8 PM. It is a good way to relieve stress from the long school day that you had that day or a good break between studying.

Zumba

Zumba club meets every Monday at 7 PM in Avenue Commons. Zumba is an aerobic fitness program that came from Latin America. You dance to Latin America music for a hour and it is a great workout!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
