I spend a good portion of my life stressed out. That is a whole different article. Here, I decided to share 26 ways that I've found help make stress manageable. Try some, and let me know what you think.

A is for attitude. The way you think about something has an impact on how you handle it. Acknowledge your frame of mind.

B is for bubble baths and breathing. Draw some warm water, add soap and relax. Look up breathing techniques and try a few.

C is for cooking. Whether it's microwaving some popcorn or baking brownies, making something is therapeutic. Getting to eat it is a bonus.

D is for dancing. I don't care if you're good at it or not. It gets blood flowing and makes you feel happier. Be silly, it's good for you.

G is for go. Go to the park or a museum or outside. A change in scenery is often helpful.

H is for help. It is 100 percent okay to admit that you're having a bad day. Ask someone to pray for you or think of you or send you funny pictures.

I is for imagination. Draw, paint or write. Create something purely your own.

J is for journalling. It helps to write down how you feel or what you are going through.

K is for kindness. Sometimes you help yourself by helping others. Send someone a compliment or encouragement. Smile or hold the door for a stranger.

L is for listening and laughing. Let someone else share with you or watch some funny YouTube videos. Both are good medicine.

M is for music. Your favorite songs are perfect for cheering you up. If you can't find any, Google is again a good place to look.

N is for new. Try a new food or watch a new movie ("Big Hero 6" is good), or start a new project. You have control of this change. Take advantage of it.

O is for optimism. Remember that you have had bad days before, and you have survived them.

P is for patience. Practice it with yourself and others.

Q is for quiet. Sometimes you need to just embrace the silence.

R is for reading. Escape your mind and experience someone else's.

S is for singing. Do it as loud and as off-key as you want. Make it your own.

T is for time-out. Take a break from whatever makes you uncomfortable.

U in for understanding. Get to know yourself and how you react to stress. Know how others will react and work towards understanding both.

V is for visit. A friend, a bookstore, a coffee shop. Go somewhere you feel comfortable and can be yourself. Or you can list the places you want to visit in the future.

W is for wash. Take a shower or do the dishes. Sometimes cleaning the physical cleanses the unseen.

X is for x-ray. Take a little while to examine yourself, your heart and your feelings.

Y is for yell. Blow off some steam and yell for something you love: a team, a cause, a person.

Z is for zeal. Show great enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or objective. Be passionate.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
