There has been something on my mind for the past 2 years, and that is the fact that ABC cancelled their greatest show ever, "Twisted." "Twisted" was the show about a then 11-year-old boy named Danny who was accused of allegedly killing his aunt. Danny spent five years in juvenile detention because of the accusations. When Danny is finally free, he takes time to get readjusted to life outside of prison and reacquainted with the towns people who still have their suspicions about him. Just when things seemed to be going right for Danny one of his fellow schoolmates is murdered and Danny is the prime suspect. The show follows Danny trying to clear his name while dealing with love, friendship, and untrustworthy people of his past.
This show was the most interesting and heart captivating series ABC Family had ever created, and it was cancelled after one season. "Twisted" included everything you could ever want in a show: let's start with mystery. When starting this series, you aren't fully sure if Danny was the one to kill his aunt, and for the sake of the readers, I won't reveal if he did or did not commit the crime. The little pieces that unfolded each episode left you wanting more. Tuesdays could not get here fast enough!
Romance...need I say more. A show is always more interesting with a love interest...or two. Before Danny went away he had two best friends, Lacey and Jo. The complicated love triangle that occurs between these characters is to die for. Thirdly, you can't have love without a little drama. Danny starts the series out with feelings for Lacey, and they act on those feelings and enter a relationship. Oh, and did I fail to mention that Lacey and Jo are no longer friends. This is super aggravating for Jo, because surprise, surprise she is in love with Danny. I won't go into too much detail of how that all pans out. Let's not even get into the plot-twist people, this show will literally take you for the ride of your life. I mean, they didn't name the show "twisted" for nothing.
There was thrill and suspension, and if that isn't a reason to fall in love with it, Netflix gave it an almost perfect 5-star rating, and we know Netflix isn't always kind with their ratings. Lastly, Twisted was a show that incorporated very real life events with super dramatic twists and turns. I think it is pretty needless to say that all former and hopefully current "Twisted" fans would love to see Twisted resurrected, or at least a 2-hour finale explaining what happened after the last episode. Spoiler alert, the last episode is such a cliff hanger I haven't been that depressed since the "One on One" season finale. So ABC if you read this please bring "Twisted" back!
