A Letter To My Mom
Briget Sarah

Mom,

The amount of love and effort that you've put into our family is unreal. You have put yourself last in every situation since my sisters and I ever existed. You're such an amazing woman. I hope to be half of the mom that you are one day.

You have been my number one protector and mentor since day one. You've always been there for me, helping me in any situation I've ever needed. You've been there to give me advice at any hour of the night.

You're there when I have a question ranging from how to cook something to making doctors appointments. Again, you haven't put yourself first in any situation involving your family since your family started, and that's such a selfless act. You're such a selfless person. You're a beautiful, generous, caring, and silly person that I'm so lucky to call my mom.

Watching you do what you love most, teaching, really proves what an amazing human being you are. You're patient with strangers, people who don't know you. You're kind, never yelling, and never letting anything get the best of you because you are a selfless human. Everything I've learned has come from you.

I know I'll keep growing and becoming the person I'm meant to be. With your lessons and knowledge you'll pass on to me, I know everything in life will be okay.

I know, one day, you'll be an amazing grandmother to my kids. I see how you are with your nieces or any other baby on the planet, and I admire your love for kids. You taught me so much about loving others and being sympathetic towards others. I know I'll teach my kids the same things. I look forward to seeing all of the memories we'll make in the upcoming years.

Seeing you happy is one of the best things I've seen. I hope this letter makes you happy. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you and everything you do for me.

Xoxo,
Brig

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
