Kemp is bad! No, not the kind that you smoke, but the Kemp that tries to block votes; especially votes from African-Americans. Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp, who is the Republican candidate for governor, has placed thousands of voter applications on hold. According to nbcnews.com, 70 percent are the applications of African-Americans. Georgia voters are unfortunately feeling the racist wrath of Brain Kemp. For someone with such a cool last name, he sure is a buzz kill. From probably being inspired by his Jim Crow supporting ancestors, Kemp felt it in his soul that he had to do something to keep voter suppression alive, and here it is.

Civil rights groups have sued Kemp, claiming that his way to verify voter registration is discriminatory. According to nbcnews.com, "The lawsuit, filed late Thursday in the U.S. District Court in Atlanta, comes after the revelation that thousands of new applications were placed on hold just weeks before November's midterm election."

According to savannahnow.com, Georgia has an "exact match" protocol which "… requires voter registration information entered by a prospective voter or county elections staff to precisely match records on file with the Georgia Department of Drivers Services or Social Security Administration. If the information doesn't match, the applicant is placed in 'pending' status and is given 26 months to correct the record." Lawyers for the civil rights groups wrote that "It imposes a substantial, unwarranted, and disproportionate burden on Black, Latino, and Asian-American voters and denies them equal opportunity to register and to vote in Georgia elections."

Instead of making a public apology by explaining how he is "not a racist" and that he is sorry if he hurt anyone while crying on camera like Paul Deen, he denied that what he did was discriminatory. He also blamed his opponent Democrat Stacey Abrams. Seems like he is a racist in denial.

Even though civil rights groups have sued Kemp over his practices, a hilarious genius thought of a way to prevent voter suppression from being able to happen again. This genius is Trevor Noah (host of The Daily Show). During an episode, while discussing Kemp's practices he pitched the idea of black people voting Republican. "Every black person in America needs to register as a Republican," Noah said.

He went on to explain that black people should just say that they are going to vote red, and just because you say it doesn't mean you have to do it. Claiming to be a Republican will be a way to make sure your vote will count. "I guarantee you, if the G.O.P. thinks that black people are voting for them, they will be making sure that your vote counts. They're going to be waving Trayvons into the voting booth like a third-base coach," Noah said.

8 Things I Realized After My First Semester In College

Actually, Kylie Jenner, 2018 is the year of realizing things.

The first semester of college is famous for being one of the most difficult transitions of one's young adult life. You're thrown into a completely new area where the majority of the people surrounding you are strangers in an academic environment that's much more challenging then what you've grown accustomed to for the past twelve years. On top of that, you probably share a room with another person (or even multiple people) on the lumpiest "mattress" you've ever slept on.

With this change comes a lot of questions: what do I want to major in? What am I passionate about? Is what I'm passionate about something I'm actually good at? Why does the bathroom smell like cranberry juice and vodka? What is that thing at the bottom of the shower drain?
