A Shout Out To All Those Struggling Right Now

It is a trying time. It is a time of uncertainty, fear, and for a lot of people, loneliness. For most people, an overwhelming since of dread and fear isn't too far off the table, and to those of you struggling, I have a message for you. You should be proud of yourself for pushing further and further every day, even when you feel like pushing isn't an option anymore. Carrying the weight of grief and loneliness on your shoulders can be a lot to handle, but here you are, doing it. Persevering everyday and allowing yourself time to grieve so that when you come back, you are fully capable of anything you want to achieve.

You were built to withstand things that are in your path. I encourage you to brace yourself and prepare for impact and break all of the obstacles that are ahead of you. You are a creature of strength and power, use that to the very best of your ability. You are capable, willful, and beautiful.

It's okay to not be strong now. It's okay to lean on others for help, to spend time being sad. Struggling is not a sign of weakness. Sadness is not a sign of weakness. No one can survive a lot. Allow yourself the pleasure of resting. Let someone else carry the burden for you for a while, someone that really truly loves you.

Sometimes the pressure is too much to handle, sometimes it's overwhelming, and scary, and pressing. It be like that sometimes, it really do. Your strength, passion, love, and commitment will pull your out of the darkest times and let you see the light. You deserve to feel happiness, complete, and all the other good things in the world. You may be struggling now, but it doesn't last forever. Struggle is in our nature, and I am so proud of you for pushing through.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
