21 and FUN (and quarantined)!!

A Quarantined 21st

In This Article:

Your 21st birthday is the milestone birthday you have been waiting for!! It is the birthday that everyone loves to celebrate (and most times, forget). However, COVID has been putting a stand still on many different milestone celebrations, 21st birthdays included. I do not know about you, but I will not be letting COVID bring down my birthday and you should not either! Being safe does not mean not being able to have fun! You do not have to choose one or the other!

1. Decorations.

Get into the spirit! I am a firm believer that a person's mood is extremely influenced by the environment they're in, so make it a fun environment! You want to bring up the mood and get yourself excited about the milestone you just hit. This is a day solely about you, take full advantage of it. Turn your house into your own Club Quarantine and enjoy every second of it!

2. Dress to impress!

Something I always thought about was what I would wear for my 21st. Everyone goes so full out for their outfits and look absolutely stunning!!! Time for you to go full out and dress to impress!! You can snap and get some cute pictures you have been waiting 21 years to get. Plus, I find it to be so much fun to dress up because we have not gotten to do that in SO LONG because of COVID.

3. At Home Bar Crawl

The part of your 21st that is composing your mind...alcohol. Given that you can not do a typical bar crawl or go clubbing right now, this it the next best thing. You could even label the different "bars" as your favorite bars to go to or make their signature drinks. Make it fun! Turn your home into a bar crawl or club quarantine!

4. Group of your closest friends.

All that matters. It does not matter to have every person you know there. Those who you want to be there and who just as equally want to be there for you will be. Those who are the ones you find in your corner and to be your biggest supporters are the ones who you should want there. No more is necessary I promise. Having a small group of your best friends to celebrate with makes it that much better and will make your entire birthday.

5. Drinking games.

One of my favorite things to do with my friends. Playing drinking games is a super fun way to let loose and get to the messy and loud part of your night. This is when you'll exchange the best laughs and make the most of a COVID birthday. I suggest picking your top 3 favorite games and start with those and work your way to more if needed. My go to games are beer pong, flip cup, and ring of fire! What are yours?

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
