Short stories about Environmental Well-Being

We are one -- One with nature, animals, and the air. Everything that surrounds us is within immediate reach for love. As the trees begin to wither and the air suffocate, we must realize that it is we, we who have poisoned it. When we siphon our bearings, oh so dark and tarnished, into the flowing rivers of the earth, the water cries. It, with everlasting pain, sings its song as the animals cling to every last source of food they can attain. And while they grapple with the tarnishes of the human race, their organs suck the synthetic forms we create,

And you say, "Only a matter of time before it's fixed." Well, as the water screams and the air suffocates, God laughs at you. For he gave you this land, the one that you so tarnished and destroyed. Full of beauty it was, before the human race bestowed its dominion over it and called it "theirs'. And mustn't you be an atheist, think for yourself. As life begins to diminish and heat begins to trap, it will be you that is screaming as the world slowly crumbles out and under you. And I know you can feel it, feel it as blistering summers turn to glacial winters. And if religion is not principal, think about your family (whether future or present). As they sit in the conditions you've created, disease may flow around like birds to the air and the land may be bald like a city abandoned after depression hits.

And, it has already started. From melted glaciers to the disparity in temperatures, they are trying to tell you something, for things can only last so long. It's a call, a call for help. For one to change their paths and show love. Love to the nature that surrounds you and to the things that give you life.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
