Valentines Day on Thursday, February 14th is coming up. But even more QUICKLY approaching is ~~Galentines Day~~ on February 13th. Galentines is about "ladies celebrating ladies." So round up your best gals, put on your best face masks and coziest pants, and watch one of the movies below!!

1. Sex and the City: The Movie

Netflix

A bougie girl power movie! Follow Samantha, Charlotte, Miranda, and Carrie as they embark on another adventure, beginning with heartbreak, ending with love, and filled with ridiculously lavish vacations and fancy shoes. This is available on Netflix.

2. Girls Trip

Instagram: @girlstripmovie

A raunchy, girl power movie! This over-the-top movie is a lot like a more fun, crazy, modern version of Sex and the City. The women go to NOLA for the Essence Festival. They have multiple run-ins with police, press, men, and even a zipline. Currently available on Redbox.

3. A Simple Favor

Instagram: @asimplefavor

A mysterious, risqué movie! This movie features Blake Lively, Anna Kendrick, and ~Henry Golding~. Blake's character goes missing, Anna tries to find her, while developing a romance with Blake's husband, Henry. A disaster. Super chic and a hint of dark humor. Available on Redbox.

4. TAG

Instagram: @tagthemovie

A funny, lighthearted adventure movie! I am a big fan of this movie, because I love the fact that it is based on a true story. A group of men playing tag once a month since childhood. They infiltrate each other's homes, workplaces, and even weddings to tag each other. Hilarious antics and conniving plans. Available on Redbox.

5. 13 Going On 30

Instagram: @dreamingysl

An adorably cheesy, girly movie! This early 2000's movie featuring Jennifer Garner is a feel good, cute commentary on growing up and GIRL POWER! You can watch this on Amazon Prime for $2.99.

6. Clueless

Instagram: @cluelessthemovie

A sassy, totally 90's iconic movie! As if!! This total valley girl movie is the OG Mean Girls. Cher's iconic yellow plaid outfit has made more Halloween costumes than I can count. Hilariously 90's and featuring a young Paul Rudd! You can also rent this classic for $2.99 on Amazon Prime.

7. Mamma Mia

Instagram: @mammamiamovie

A sing-along, quirky movie! This is my 2nd favorite movie of all time. You may initially think it's about a wedding, but it is really about finding out who Sophie's father is, while learning about the hijinks and relationships of Donna (MERYL STREEP) and her three past lovers. My favorite part is the old-ish lady trio, Donna and the Dynamos. Just watch this movie and sing your heart out to ABBA classics. Available on Netflix.

8. Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again

Instagram: @mammamiamovie

An even BETTER sing-along, even MORE quirky movie! What's the only thing better than Mamma Mia?? ANOTHER Mamma Mia!! I think the songs in this one are even better than the first. Waterloo. When I Kissed the Teacher?? This movie is absolute madness, featuring 72-year-old Cher being 69-year-old Meryl Streep's mother. You can probably rent this online somewhere, but I recommend going out and buying the DVD. And keeping it with you at all times. I just love this movie.

9. What Happened to Monday

Instagram: @movie_review18

A dark, suspenseful movie! If you guys are in the mood for an action packed, mysterious thriller set in a dystopian society with strange rules, watch this movie. You guys will be on the edge of your seats wondering WHAT happened to Monday?? Available on Netflix!!

10. Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Instagram: @artist_with_a_body

A random, giggly movie! For the fun group of gals with dry senses of humor that love BBC. This British movie will have you guys laughing the entire time at the proposterous-ness of this movie, as well as shouting lovable phrases like, "It's just a flesh wound!!," "Three, sir, three!!," and "We are the knights who say... NI" This is now available on Netflix!!

I hope these movies contribute to your best Galentine's yet!

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
