A Letter to the Girl Who Thought it was the End…

I wrote this letter to my 16 year old self telling her all the things I wish I would have known. 4 years later life has changed so much, God is so good!

A Letter to the Girl Who Thought it was the End…

To the girl who thought she was at the end… hey I know it might be hard to believe but just listen… it will all be OKAY! Right now, you are feeling lost, completely alone, and ohh so broken. You will be OKAY, you will find friends, you will feel a happiness like none other, and you will learn you are oh so loved… you will learn you have a purpose. All this hurt, all this pain will make sense one day… you will find peace. I know right now it's hard to understand why: why you, why does it hurt, why are you so unlovable, why can't you stand to see yourself in the mirror, why do you hate yourself? The answer is simple you aren't listening to God, you are lost. But one day when you think you can't take it anymore you will hear him loud and clear, he loves so unconditionally, so purely, he is faithful and never turns his back, no matter how many times you turn away from him, he LOVES you. When you think you are all alone he is right there, he is the only thing that allows you to keep moving forward, to live another day. So PLEASE listen! He is going to do some really big things in your life so pursue him at all cost. You will find happiness it won't be immediately but one day you will find a happiness you didn't think was possible. You will learn to FORGIVE those who have hurt you but most importantly yourself… because forgiveness is a personal decision. He will call you to do things you don't understand, so just listen, they will be the greatest experiences of your life. You will learn it is OKAY to be vulnerable with others, to let them see the real you. You will learn you are worth far more than the guy you think is "perfect", cause he's not and he is not worth it. You will find someone one day… maybe not today but it will happen. You will find REAL friendships and learn so much through them, they will push you to become the best you possible. You will experience heartbreak, loss and so many hard emotions but keep pursuing him, he will bring you comfort and peace that is found only in him. He will test you time and time again, so don't get frustrated trust the process, TRUST HIM! Follow your heart because he won't steer you wrong, keep listening and NEVER lose sight of him. Remember God meets you where you are not where you want to be, you don't have to change for him, just except him. He LOVED you at your worst so keep striving for more, to be better. Continue to love others, to be a loyal friend, because one day it will be recognized. There will be days it's hard: you will question it all… but trust me it's OKAY. You won't always feel like you are enough, but that's the thing about God, you don't have to be "enough" for him. So, get ready you are about to make the most IMPORTANT decision of your life… THE STORY STARTS TODAY!

Love always,

Creighton

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
