A Letter To My Unintentionally Met, Instant Best Friend

Dear Best Friend,

Who would have thought that you were someone I would unintentionally meet and become best friends right off the bat? We haven't known each other that long, yet it feels like we've been friends for years. I cherish friendships like this because they are rare.

I want you to know that when i first met you, I knew that you were special. You were a ray of sunshine with an infectious smile that lit up a room. No one was rushing to be your friend until you and i became friends and that says a lot. I liked you for you and I never wanted you to change who you were.

One thing I absolutely love about you is that you aren't afraid to be yourself around me. Being that safe haven for you makes be feel like I have done my job as a best friend and will continue doing so. The fact that you can't be yourself around others tears me up inside. How could anyone not accept you? You are the smartest and goofiest person I know. I just want you to know that you are enough in my eyes even if others don't see it.

Thank you for being my backbone. You are always there when i need you, even when you have problems of your own. You call me almost every morning to wake me up and get me out of bed when I am depressed. You sit there and wait until i get up and shower and make sure that I eat. If that isn't a friend, I don't know what is. You don't understand how much that means to me.

You are one of the most positive people i have ever met and your outlook on life is what amazes me. When I feel like giving up, I think about everything you taught me and that gives me a push of motivation.

You don't realize that you make a bigger impact on people than you realize. You bring out the best in others and myself and i thank you for that.

I know you may not always feel like you are the best person, but you are the best person in my eyes and I want you to know that I am extremely proud of you know matter what.

This past year was rough for me and I prayed to God to send me something, anything. I just needed a miracle and he sent you. I tell everyone how amazing you are and they see how happy i am when i talk about you. You are the reason i am smiling today. You helped take away m fears and my worries. You helped me get through the most tragic times, you picked me up when I was down, and you also became one of the most trustworthy people that i can rely on. I never have to question your loyalty with me.

Overall, thank you for being you. I love you!

Love,

Your Best Friend!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
