Maybe you're one of those people who when the holiday season starts, the cold begins to set in, and Starbucks brings out their new winter menu -- you don't want to jump up and down and listen to Mariah Carey. Maybe you're one of the few that secretly does mumble bah-humbug or walks around waiting for spring to come. Just plainly put, you're not about the holiday spirit. Well, for all of those Grinches out here's a few things we Cindy Lou Who's want you to know.
We need you. Sometimes we lovers-of-holidays can get too caught up in shopping, excitement, and all the outside things. Without our Grinches, we wouldn't be reminded of what the holiday is truly about and focus on the truly important things. We truly need y'all.
Sometimes just play along. Maybe it's for your grandma who bought you another pair of socks, or for your girlfriend who wants to go look at Christmas lights -- sometimes all we want the Grinch to do is just play along and pretend that you don't hate the entire holiday. A little smile can go a long way.
You're not alone. Whenever you feel that everyone around you is obsessed with mistletoe and holiday cheer, remember that you're not the only one that hates the holidays. There are people all around that don't look forward to Christmas every year, and there are some that for the Holidays it is sad memories that accompany the cold. So even when you feel like a lone wolf out there in the holly jolliness -- you're not.
We're there for you. Just as Cindy Lou Who wanted to understand the Grinch and sought friendship with the Grinch, we too are there for you. We know that you don't like the holidays yet we still love you. Let us know when we're being too much and be willing to accept our hugs. We apologize for our cheeriness, but will never apologize for having you in our lives.
The Holiday Spirit wins in the end. Although you might always hate the holidays to some extent, there will be some point in your life where your heart will grow three sizes and you'll join us in the deep love of the holidays. And for us Cindy Lou Who's out there, that potential hope of a one day Christmas (maybe far away) keeps us going year after year. You can steal our holiday joy as much as you want because, in the end, we know the Holiday Spirit will win.
