A Letter To The Girl Who Always Overextends Herself

How much of you is left for you at the end of the day?

A Letter To The Girl Who Always Overextends Herself

Hello,

You're probably very busy and only have a couple of minutes to read this, so I'll make it quick.

Not a lot of people try and do the amount that you do.

You've always been involved in just about everything. It's just what you do. You're probably very organized and independent. You are often willing to take on more than your fair share for the good of the cause.

You're an overachiever after all.

Your passion (your metaphorical candle) and will to succeed drive your actions. You work for everything and take nothing for granted.

Those who surround you are constantly asking things of you and you rarely say "no." You often feel like saying "no" to a task or request for help isn't an option. It's your job, duty and responsibility to help those around you.

To such an extent that you often come last on your list of priorities. There isn't enough time in the day to conquer your ever-growing checklist.

This is how you live your life and most of the time you wouldn't trade it for anything.

Yet, some days it feels as if everyone is taking a piece of you.

How much of you is left for you at the end of the day?

You feel selfish taking the time for yourself.

After all, there is so much more you could be doing with your time.

As much as I, the overextended girl, disagree with this, you should take this advice:

take a break.

I know it is the last thing you want to do. You have so much you want to accomplish in so little time. Taking a break seems like an impossible task.

However, if you don't, your candle just may burn out.

Save a little bit of you for you.

Sincerely,

A fellow overextended girl

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
