OK, let's not crank up the Christmas music just yet. While I love jamming out to Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" as much as the next girl, Thanksgiving is still a holiday that deserves a chance to be celebrated properly. For all my ride or die Christmas fans out there, try having a bit of empathy. I mean, could you imagine your existence being constantly overlooked due to the shadow of someone better than you in pretty much almost every aspect? No? Just me? Okay.

Well, besides the superficial things surrounding Thanksgiving that we care about (which, to be honest, might be the ONLY things we truly care about) like herb-roasted turkeys, homemade stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes, sugar-crusted apple pies... what I was I talking about again? Oh yeah. Besides the superficial things surrounding Thanksgiving, it is important to take this time to think about what it is you have to be grateful for, and if you're sitting there thinking, "life sucks and everything is meaningless," like most angsty college teens, then here is a list to get the gears in your brain going.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
