8 TV Shows And Movies That Defined My Childhood

I've went all these years without seeing Wizard Kelly's face.

As a child, I grew up in a time where we pretended the floor was lava, thought "talk to the hand" was the best defense, and our worst enemy was a metal slide at 3pm on a hot day. Along with these memories and many more, I can't help but think about a few of my favorite tv shows and movies that seem to have gotten lost in time so let us reminisce.

1. The Land Before Time

These movies literally defined my childhood. I can't imagine life without Littlefoot, Cera, Petrie, Spike, and we can't forget Ducky and her hefty appetite for treestars.

2. The Proud Family

How can we forget Penny Proud? We loved her, Suga Mama, and the rest of the family. We always wondered why we never saw Wizard Kelly's face, and we developed a deep hatred for the Gross sisters.

3. Zoey 101

Ah, Zoey 101. The show that gave me hope that one day I would go to a school as awesome as PCA. I'll forever be upset that Jamie Lynn Spears got pregnant resulting in the show being canceled.

4. The Brave Little Toaster

Who knew that a vacuum, toaster, blanket, lamp, and radio traveling around would have so much impact on my childhood.

5. Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide

How would I have ever survived school without Ned Bigby's helpful tips?

6. That's So Raven

Raven Baxter is me. Oh snap.

7. The Amanda Show

This show made me laugh more growing up than anything else I can think of. Also we can't forget my favorite skit. GIRLS ROOM.

8. Maggie And The Ferocious Beast

I swear they pulled everything out of that cardboard box.

Today's kids TV shows and movies have changed so much over the years. When I turn the channel to Cartoon Network or Disney Channel, I tell myself that I was either just an oblivious kid to horrible acting or the shows have just changed so much. To this day, I still get excited when someone brings up these shows, and I probably always will.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.
