9 Ways To De-Stress

College is stressful. There's homework to do every night. Papers to write. Midterms and finals. Sometimes it can just be too overwhelming. The key to managing all your work, a social life, a job , and other obligations is to take time to de-stress. Give yourself 30 minutes or an hour every day to do something for yourself.

1. Take a nice long shower

There's nothing more relaxing than taking a long, hot shower. Blare some music and have an impromptu concert while you're at it.

2. Meditate

A Mayo Clinic article recommends meditation to relieve stress and improve your emotional well-being.

3. Listen to music.

Pick your favorite artist or listen to your favorite songs. Spotify is also a great platform for listening to music!

4. Go for a walk (or run).

Exercise has a lot of really great health benefits! Not to mention that you're getting out of your dorm, de-stressing, and getting into shape all at the same time.

5. Read a book

And not because you have to. Read a book you love or have been eyeing for a while but just didn't have the time for. Forget about your homework for a while and transport yourself somewhere new.

6. Play a game

This is my favorite way to relieve stress. I like to sit down at my computer let off some steam by playing video games.

7. Watch some Netflix

Watch an episode or two of that new show that just came out.

8. Eat your favorite food

Make it yourself if you love to cook or order some takeout. You don't always have to eat the food on campus.

9. Take a nap

This is my go-to whenever I feel stressed out. Take a nap and recharge your batteries before you decide to take on the world.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
