Spring has finally officially sprung, and with it comes one of the best holiday of the year: Easter! While everyone has their own plans and traditions, here are some things that you should definitely do this Sunday to celebrate.

1. Have an Easter egg hunt

I know you've all probably thought of this and done this your whole lives, but you're never too old for an Easter egg hunt. Especially if your family hides some cash in a few of the eggs like mine does. We're all broke college kids, so anything goes a long way.

And besides, what's Easter without an egg hunt?

2. Ask your mom for an Easter basket

Similarly, you're never too old for a nice little gift from "The Easter Bunny." Well, maybe you are, but receiving some candy and gifts is something I don't really want to give up just yet.

3. Decorate some eggs

This is always one of my favorite parts of Easter because I feel like I'm actually somewhat crafty for once. Because even if you're one of the most artistically challenged people ever (like myself), how can you really mess up dying an Easter egg?!

4. Eat a ton of food and candy

After all, it is a holiday and everyone knows calories don't count on holidays. Plus, chances are that you'll likely be going to your grandma's and you know she's always got plenty of food to go around. We're so used to house food and ramen that taking full advantage of a nice, home-cooked meal is something we should not be ashamed of at all.

5. Play a prank on someone

This year, Easter also happens to fall on April Fool's day, which is arguably the funniest but also the most nerve-wracking day of the year. Whether you pull off a serious scare as a joke, or a harmless, goofy prank is up to you; you just can't let the opportunity go to waste to get away with it.

6. Spend time with your family and friends

As a college student, any holiday is always a good excuse to go home and see your family. It's also a good time to hang out with old friends, too. I always look forward to seeing my high school friends whenever everyone is finally home for a weekend together.

7. Wear your snazziest outfit

Everyone knows that Easter is the holiday everyone whips out that brand new dress or shoes you bought specifically for Sunday. It's one holiday that you can most definitely get away with being a little more "extra" than usual.

8. Try not to think about the school week

Obviously, Easter is always on a Sunday. But try not to let the Sunday scaries get the best of you this one weekend. Even though Monday is lurking right around the corner, let yourself enjoy the company of family and friends and truly celebrate the holiday.

9. Go to church

Lastly, but most importantly, try to attend a church service. Whether it's your regular church, first time visiting with a friend, or a relative's place of worship, it's important to hear what Easter is all about. Even though it's the same story every year, it's the greatest story ever told. Don't miss out, because you really can't ever hear the story of Jesus' resurrection enough.

However you decide to spend your Easter weekend, I hope it's great! "Hoppy Easter, everybunny!" (I'm sorry I know that was so cheesy).

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
