When I think of summer, I think of the outdoors, the outdoors makes me think of camping, and when I think of camping I (of course) think of s'mores. While I am a fan of the traditional graham cracker, chocolate, and marshmallow combination, I decided to explore other kinds that will leave you wanting some more. Summer doesn't have to be boring, and neither do your s'mores.
1. Chocolate strawberry s'mores
We all know that chocolate and strawberries are a beautiful combination. But shove them between two graham crackers and add a roasted marshmallow and you have a masterpiece.
2. Reese's peanut butter cup s'mores
This ooey-gooey delight is achieved by sandwiching a roasted marshmallow and a (slightly melted) Reese's peanut butter cup in between two graham crackers. The marshmallow, peanut butter, and chocolate blend together into what can only be described as ambrosial, or just really really good.
3. S'mores campfire cones
Who says that s'mores have to come in between two graham crackers? This trick involves filling a sugar cone with whatever kind of s'more that you want and then wrapping it in tin foil as you roast it over the fire. The final result proves to be a cascade of marshmallowey/chocolatey love.
4. Triple chocolate s'mores
Why only have one kind of chocolate when you can have three?
5. Chocolate chip cookie s'mores
Woah. The traditional graham crackers might only be rivaled by one thing.
6. Peanut butter apple s'mores
Another delicious alternative to graham crackers are apples, and when you pair them with peanut butter, marshmallows, and chocolate, you find out what true love really is.
7. Peppermint s'mores
Peppermint bark + peppermint marshmallow + chocolate graham crackers = the holy trinity that might remind you of Christmas.
8. Caramel s'mores
Chocolate and caramel. Caramel and chocolate. What words sound better together than those? Oh yes, chocolate, caramel, and marshmallows.
9. Adding new toppings is not the only way you can be more creative with your s'mores
Pure. Genius.
Summer is the time to make great memories and great s'mores. Whether it is camping in the woods or having a bonfire on the beach, just remember that there will always be that one person who refuses to roast a marshmallow until the coals are just right.
