There are tons of TV shows out there. On TV, on Netflix, on Hulu...the possibilities are endless. I'm sure I'm not the only one that finishes all six seasons of a show in a couple days (we've all been there). When I'm done, I find myself constantly looking for new shows to watch - which can take quite a lot of time when you're trying to find the right one for you. So, I figured I would compile a list for all you bingers of shows that I've watched and weren't a complete waste of time.

1. "Shameless (U.S.)"

If you're into vulgarity, lots of drama, and a show that gives absolutely no craps, this is for you. It's become pretty popular on Netflix since it was added. It focuses around an alcoholic named Frank and his crazy family of six. He has an older daughter named Fiona who practically raises the kids, along with a younger daughter named Debbie that's just trying to get through her teenage years. And you can't forget the four brothers Lip (real cute and smart), Ian (the gay teenager in the closet), Carl (a crazy kid that really shouldn't be trusted with weapons of any sort), and Liam (the cutest toddler ever). The only problem with it is that after the fourth season, you have to pay for the rest (season 5 & 6 so far) due to the fact that it airs on Showtime (but you can totally find it online). The show is insanely inappropriate (I'm talking 18+), so this is for the older crowd. It's definitely worth a watch though.

2. "Orange Is The New Black"

Well, here's another vulgar show for you guys. This is the most popular show that Netflix has made thus far and for a good reason. Sure, it's a little on the suggestive side, but it has a really great story and solid characters. At first, the show focuses around a woman named Piper who was involved in the transporting of drugs. She was never caught, but she turned herself in to the authorities and landed herself in the Litchfield Penitentiary. As the show goes on, it tends to focus a little bit more on the other ladies inhabiting the prison (some of them have some pretty top notch back stories). It's a pretty messed up show with gangs, crazy guards, and gross prison food. This is a show for someone who wants a little drama and laughter in their lives (and who doesn't mind seeing the occasional body part once in awhile).

3. "Psych"

Do you love crime shows like "Bones" and/or "CSI" but they're just too serious for you? Well, have I got a show for you folks. This is the first appropriate show on this list so far. It centers around two guys, one named Shawn and the other named Gus. Shawn decides he's going to be a fake psychic and ends up dragging Gus into the craziness with him. Granted, they do solve a lot of cases that the police couldn't crack even though he's a fake. But, this is a totally goofy show (with a little romance on the side) that's sure to get you hooked in immediately.

4. "American Horror Story"

I'm sure we've all heard of this show. I'm not going to lie, the first episode was pretty creepy (I mean, all of them are, but it sorta took me off guard). This one was a hard one for me to get into due to all of the sexual themes and the blood and gore. But as the show progressed, I couldn't stop watching. Each season is a different story with most of the same actors. And every season is pretty darn good. My absolute favorite was the second season (Asylum) and my least favorite was the third season (Coven). If you can get past the creepiness, it's definitely a worthwhile watch. And have you seen Evan Peters? *swoon*

5. "Raising Hope"

Here's the show for all you people looking for a goofy feel-good family show. This show centers around a little girl named Hope, her father (who still lives with his parents), and their crazy family (which includes her grandma, grandpa, and great grandma). The grandparents are a little on the cooky side, but they definitely aren't nearly as crazy as her great grandma. During the show, they're all just trying to get through their lives with the new addition to the family (and since Hope's mom is a murderer in jail, I'm sure they're kinda stuck with her). If you're looking for a smile or something to warm your heart, this show totally has you covered.

6. "The Vampire Diaries"

Are you totally into Twilight, but it just isn't as good as it used to be? Well, here you go, I've got your new vampire fix. This show centers around the main character Elena and the two Salvatore brothers, Stefan and Damon. The brothers are both vampires, but they're not the only ones. We also can't forget the array of werewolves and witches the show has to offer as well. If you decide this show is for you, get ready for some emotional roller coasters. It is full of drama - it never ends (but that's the good part)! And by the way, of course there's a love triangle. Get ready for the love story of a lifetime. Also, (I know I just said this about Evan Peters) but have you seen Ian Somerhalder? *swoon*

7. "Humans"

The next show I have for you is a pretty new show (there's only one season out so far). This show is about robots. Cool, huh? There are now robots in the world (synthetic ones that look like actual humans) that are available to be purchased and used around the house as maids/butlers/slaves. Sure, they look a little creepy because they look so real, but wouldn't that be super cool? Wrong. Some of these synthetic robots (synths as they're called in the show) are conscious and can actually feel and think for themselves. And heads up, they don't like being owned by people. It's definitely more of a drama, but there's a little bit of humor and romance mixed in there as well. The first season was pretty good and I can't wait to see the next one.

8. "Star Crossed"

Now this was absolutely one of my favorite shows for a moment of time. But it was canceled after the first season! It's a great love story about a normal human girl and an alien. These aliens look totally like normal human beings, except for the really super mega cool designs on their skin. The aliens are outcast after coming down to earth and are just trying to be understood and get accepted by the humans. Some of the humans are okay with them, yet others think their existence is a nuisance. It's a pretty good show with a decent story line, but it only lasts one season, so it's kinda hard to get into when you know it's going to end abruptly. And the way the last episode ends is not how you want to completely end a show. But it's definitely worth some of your time.

9. "The Returned" (A&E)

You might have heard of this show or the other one just like it. But personally, I prefer this version. But this show was also canceled after one season. Argh, isn't that a pain? This show is about loved ones coming back from the dead. No, they're not zombies. They're just back and they haven't aged a bit. Some of them don't even know they died. It's a hard process for them to get back into their daily lives (everyone is older, their boyfriends/girlfriends have moved on) but they're trying to do it - granted they only get one season to try, ugh. This show is pretty darn good and has some good drama. I totally recommend it if you're not looking for a show to really delve into, but you still want a decent story line.

Happy binging!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
