It's finally time for finals. This is a period of time in which we all feel a little extra stressed. Here on some tips on how to deal with that stress and get through this last tough week before break.

1. Never underestimate the power of coffee.

I've written about the magic of coffee before, so just keep in mind that it can truly work wonders. All the late nights of studying are a little more enjoyable with some coffee running through your veins.

2. Make sure you leave some time for sleep.

We all know what an all-nighter is, and a good number of us have probably pulled a couple ourselves. Sleep is the best cure for anything, and you don't want to be falling asleep in those finals. Make sure there is enough time for studying while also saving enough time for sleep.

3. Don't focus too much on a specific test.

Chances are, there is one final that you're a little more worried about than the others. Make sure that you study for that one, but don't neglect your other finals. You don't want to spend so much time focusing on one test and end up bombing the rest of them right?

4. Use your time wisely.

Finals week is a major battle with time. Am I gonna get enough sleep to perform well? Are there enough hours in the day to study for all of these finals? Will I even have time to eat today? Use your time wisely and make sure you have enough time to get everything done.

5. Netflix is a good friend, but not during finals week.

We all love Netflix. It's always there for us to watch whenever we want. However, it is important to realize that neglecting your studies in order to watch the latest Christmas movie is not smart. Don't let yourself get too wrapped up in Netflix, and certainly don't start a new series the week before finals.

6. Just a few more days until you get to be home and sleep in your own bed.

One of the major factors that has made getting through finals easier for me is the constant reminder that I will soon be home. Just keep pushing through this week, it'll all be worth it when you're greeted by your mom and dad as you walk through the door in just a few short days.

7. You never have to see that professor you hate again (unless you accidentally take them again next semester).

If you're like me, you have one, maybe even two, professors that you don't really like. Lucky for us, our journey with them is almost over. Just keep that in mind as you're taking that professor's exam.

8. Procrastination will not help you pass that exam.

Let's face it-- we all procrastinate. It's especially easy to put off all the assignments and studying that needs to be done during finals week. Well I'm here to tell you to stop. Stop procrastinating and pick up your textbook. It'll be worth it when you receive that A.

9. Doing your best is enough.

Sometimes you study for 6 hours and get a C. Just remember that as long as you did your absolute best and studied as hard as you possibly could, you should be proud. It's okay to feel disappointed in a grade you make, but don't let that disappointment come from the fact that you knew you could have studied harder.

Good luck to everyone during this finals week. Do your best and strive for that 4.0!

May the force be with you.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
