Packing for college is stressful. You have all this stuff that you need to bring, the essentials. Then there is your decorations and whatever else you are bringing to personalize your space. Regardless of grade, gender or major, there is a lot of stuff to bring to college. You are basically moving out and bringing all your stuff with you. There is no room for mistakes when it comes to packing.

1. Do I really need all of this stuff?

Of course, you do not need it, but you want it. You cannot see yourself surviving the semester without six different colored highlighters, right?

2. Where am I going to put this?

Your room is not going to be a giant room that will fit as much stuff as you want it to. If you are lucky, your room is big enough for you and everything you are bringing. It is hard to manipulate all of your things to fit into your small space and still be comfortable.

3. How can I pack this without ruining it?

You do not want to get to school and have to piece together your mirror. Placing things in the car before your ride to school is vital. Ironing shirts is not the first thing you will want to do when you start to unpack.

4. Good thing most of my stuff was still packed from when I left college.

You did not even glance in the same direction as your backpack. Okay, maybe you took one day to organize and clean out everything, but besides that your backpack and school supplies stayed in a corner of your room.

5. I cannot remember whether I packed that already or it is just missing.

It is hard to decide whether something is already in a box somewhere, or if you actually have no idea where it is. Worst comes to worst, it is mailed to you or you drive home to get it one weekend.

6. Should I pack this now? Or should I wait?

The biggest dilemma is knowing when to pack certain things. You do not want to wake up the morning of move in and have no idea where your toothbrush is.

7. There is still more stuff I need to buy

You will always find yourself thinking of things you still need after you have made multiple trips to Target and Walmart and even ordered things from Amazon.

8. I hope this all fits in my car.

As you are cramming things into your car your fingers are crossed that everything will fit snug. There is stuff in the trunk, backseat and even the passenger seat. Your car is weighed down drastically from everything you are bringing.

9. I am going to have to make a lot of trips back and forth from my car.

You live on the fourth floor. Great. Think about how much fun it will be toting everything you own up to your room.

Packing is not fun. You think it will not be that bad, until you actually start packing. Stress on stress on stress. Once you are all unpacked and in your room, it will be worth it. You can finally lay down on your bed and admire your work.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
