9 Thoughts You Have While Christmas Shopping

Christmas shopping both fun and frustrating for people like me, who enjoy finding personal presents for everyone on their list. It gets hard, however, when your list keeps growing with people you don't always see.

1. Do I really have to buy something for all of these people??

I mean seriously, it's exhausting trying to come up with personal gifts for everyone.

2. Can I use the excuse that (fill in the blank) is on the naughty list, when really I didn't know what to get him?

I can't help it if they have been bad and don't deserve presents. Right? Right?

3. What do you buy for the person who has everything they could possibly want?

I mean for real, some people find something that they want and they just buy it? it's extremely frustrating.

4. I cannot deal with these people, they are driving me crazy.

Why do people think dragging their children around the store with them while Christmas shopping is a good idea? If I hear one more child scream about wanting something that their parent has probably already bought I'm going to threaten to tell Santa!

5. This is the perfect gift! Who cares if it costs a little more than I was planning to spend?

I mean it's the perfect gift! Can you really put a price tag on your friend's happiness??

6. Wait it costs HOW MUCH??

Or, you know, I could just buy them some nice socks...

7. Screw it, I'm staying home, I can buy all of this on Amazon anyways.

I get 3% cash back from Amazon and they have more variety, that seems much safer to me...

8. Why didn't I start my shopping earlier?

Okay, yes I should have started shopping a little bit here and a little bit there in October, but hindsight is 20/20...

9. Screw it, they're all getting some form of alcohol.

And let's be honest, they will all love this option anyways!

Overall, Christmas shopping is a very stressful but important part of the holiday season. Christmas isn't just about getting gifts but giving gifts to the people we care about helps show others just how much they mean to us. But thank goodness Christmas only comes once a year, because I don't think I could handle having to shop this much more than once.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
