Weird, creative, illegal?

Summer is upon us and while we are ecstatic now, in a few weeks we will be bored out of our minds and looking for the next adventure, (some may even be counting the days till the next school year starts...ew). In order to combat this summer lull here are 9 things you can do instead of sitting on the couch watching T.V. day after day. Carpe diem my friends.

1. Hunt For Photo Booths

I know it sounds a little weird but it is a super fun activity, even if you’re alone. This site can help you locate some .http://www.photobooth.net/

2. Go for a Hike.

There is nothing like getting a little fresh air and some exercise. Head to a nearby trail! If you live in the city like LA, you'd be surprised how many different trails there are around you, (other than the Hollywood sign). Try googling trails near your area, grab some water and some friends, and you're good to go!

3. Get artsy.

Grab your camera and head to a neighborhood in your city that you haven't spent much time in. Instagram that ish.

4.Get googly

Walk around town with friends and make boring objects more fun for everyone by putting Googly eyes on them! I bet you've never done this and you're missing out. Is this considered vandalizing property? I don't know. Will it be funny? Yes.

5. Volunteer

The ASPCA, a local soup kitchen, a community theater…investigate a few places that interest you and see if they need help! There is nothing better than serving others in need.

6. Food competitions

Raid your refrigerator and pantry, and do a television-style food competition, (think “Chopped” or “Iron Chef”). What's better to do on a boring summer night than eat??! Don't forget the aprons!

7. Build a fort

C'mon, no one is too old for this! If you do in fact think you're too old for this, rationalize making a fort by saying you needed some "alone time", or are trying to "awaken you're inner architect". Works for me, every time!

8.Geocaching

THIS.IS.A.MUST. If you don't know what this is, get with it people! GOOGLE! http://www.geocaching.com/<----Find the ones near you, or far from you! ((ROADTRIP))

9. Mini getaways

Fill up the back of the car/truck with pillows and blankets and sit and look at the stars/sunset/sunrise/each other/whatever you want. Bring your gf/bf or some friends. This is a great time for good convos and some serious bonding. If the area permits, bring some firewood and have a bonfire!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
