Anymore I see all these people constantly complaining and being in bad moods because of a relationship. People stay in relationships so long they forget what it's like to have a good one. Some people don't even notice they are in a toxic relationship even if it's clear to other. The things involved in relationships that I'm naming is a relationship I'd want my best friend to be in.

1. A relationship should be a partnership, not an ownership

Your significant other shouldn't be able to tell you what to do or where you can and can't go. They shouldn't make your decisions for you. You should make all decisions together equally and should never tell one another what they can and can't do.

2. A relationship should be a friendship

It makes life so much better when the person you are with is also your best friend. You should be able to have fun with this person no matter where you are.

3. A relationship should allow you to be yourself

You should be able to be 100% comfortable to be yourself with whoever you are with. If they make you feel embarrassed of who you are, they aren't the one for you.

4. A relationship should bring out the best in you

You shouldn't want to pull your hair out 24/7 and put you in a bad mood. You shouldn't make bad decisions with this person. Who you are with should make you want to be the best you could possibly be and bring out your best side. For them and for you.

5. A relationship should never tell a lie

You should be able to trust your significant other 100%. It should involve so much honesty.

6. A relationship should always have some tough love.

There's always something you need to hear but don't want to. Your significant other should be the ones to make you hear these things without being scared and you should be this person for them. Not to hurt you but to better you, you should always have each other's best interest.

7. A relationship shouldn't make you be strong all the time

You should be allowed to have your hard days and be weak knowing they will pick up the slack. In the days you can only give 40% effort they should cover the other 60%. It's not going to be 50/50 every day.

8. A relationship should have so much communication

You guys are a team and to use the teamwork correctly you should always communicate about anything and everything. Not talking to your significant other about things builds tension.

9. Your relationship should be your home

It should be your comfort zone, when you are with them it should make you feel like you're so safe no one could ever touch you. No matter where you two are you should always feel at home with them.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
