There are roughly 3,000 students that attend SUNY Delhi. Out of those 3,000 students depending on your rooming situation, one or two of them will share a room with you your first semester. Your first college roommate(s) will always leave a life long impact on you, good or bad. Here is a list of nine things to thank your first college roommate for.
1. Sharing the Room
When you move into a tiny room with another person who has just as much stuff as you well, the amount of free space diminishes rapidly. Thank you for not getting mad when the room is overcrowded and half of my belongings end up on your side, even for just a minute..or a few weeks.
2. Food, Food, Food
Whether it's going to Mac because you fell into the trap of getting Mac Only Meal Plan, or spending all of your Bronco Bucks at Farrell thanks for always accompanying me. Even when you were really into watching Netflix and didn't want to leave the room.
3. Sharing Your Food
When neither of us wants to leave the room to get food but we are dying of hunger. Thank you for offering to share your mac and cheese, Ramen noodles, and most of cookies. You'll get repaid...someday!
4. Going To The Gym
Thank you for being ambitious and going to the gym with me. The hill to the gym is a killer but at least we can suffer together or at least say we tried.
5. Going To The First Party
Deciding where to go, how to get there, finding the place. Thank you for making the journey to our first frat party so memorable, or not. The stories make it seem memorable at least.
6. Sharing Your Clothes
Despite having a full closet and dresser the clothing options seem to be on the slim side. Thankfully, you have a kick ass roommate who is always willing to share their clothes, unless it's that super cute top was just purchased.
7. Late Night Trips To The Gas Station
Sober or not, probably not. Thanks for enduring the walk to the gas station for those nachos or the ice cream that I just can't seem to get enough of.
8. Drink, Drank, Drunk
Thanks for never letting me drink alone and always being down whether it's a relaxing glass of wine, fruity mixed drink, or rowdy game of 105.
9. Being You
Thank you for always supporting me and not judging some of my questionable decisions. My Delhi experience would not be the same without you.
