9 Things That Happen If You Have Weird Friends

You love them, but there's no denying it: they're straight up weird.

Most friend groups have that weird friend. You love them to death and of course you aren't embarrassed of them, but you know that they're weird. Some people say that if you don't know who the weird person is in your friend group, it's you. But some friend groups legitimately do not have that one weird friend. Not because they don't exist, but because some friend groups are just weird. Honestly, in my friend group, I can't even determine who the most normal person is. I love my friends dearly and the fact that we're all dorky and have our own idiosyncrasies makes us great. Here are some things that might happen when you have weird friends.

1. Being competitive over everything

From slinging insults during video games to one-upping each other over who has to wake up the earliest for work and sending each other pictures of how much we can hold with our chins... It's ridiculous.

2. Cat-calls

If you're wearing a cute outfit or did something special with your hair, your friends will cat-call you. But in a way that's totally respectful and not creepy or objectifying.

3. Being totally open about bodily functions with friends

It's rare for something to be TMI, but if it is, you just say it anyway.

4. Everyone has a weird laugh

Everyone in my friend group has their own distinctive laugh.

5. Making up your own slang

We have words that don't really mean anything but we've turned them into whatever we want them to mean. For some reason, we refer to each other as "sacks." I'm still confused, but I go along with it. We also have specific responses to certain situations, like hand motions that signal a special thing. We basically have created our own dialect.

6. Traditions

I have no idea how this got started, but on Fridays we get competitive about slapping each other's butts. It's very odd, I know. We also have a tradition of dressing up when we go out to eat and then telling the waiter secretly that it's someone's birthday... It never is.

7. Family tree

Once upon a time we decided that since we're kind of like a highly dysfunctional, crazy family, we should make a family tree. We decided who would be the grandparents, who would be the children... Everything. It was extremely elaborate. It got weird when people started dating so we abandoned it and it's taboo to bring up now.

8. Great stories

Not many people can tell a story about the time they barrel-rolled down a hill and then ended up covered in goose poo.

9. Gradual introduction

There comes a point in many friendships when you have to introduce them to your other friends. When you have a weird group of friends, this can become a delicate situation. You don't want your friends to scare your new friend off, so you introduce them to the group slowly, letting your friend spend a little more time with them each day.

Your weird friends can be a little much to handle, but you wouldn't have it any other way. At the end of the day, they love you for your dorky qualities, too!

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

15 Things That Happen On Your Birthday

Do you have a small get-together or throw a big bash?

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.
