9 Things God Wants You To Know Right Now

God has an important message for YOU.

Every day we go through life with frustrations, struggles, lessons, and triumphs. God walks beside us in each, often silent, watching. But sometimes, when you least expect it and most need it, He speaks. You are a child of God, and right now, there is something He wants you to know.

1. God came because He wants you to live.

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." John 10:10

Life may not be going your way right now. You may feel lost or frustrated or stuck. But God's purpose is for you to live your life, even when it isn't turning out the way you want it to.

2. Let go and let God.

"Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

What is happening to you right now isn't necessarily in your control. It's important to be proactive and to take charge of your own life, but remember who gave it to you. It's important to know when it's time to step back and let God handle it for you.

3. God's not done yet.

"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6

You're still waiting for that prayer to be answered. You're not happy with the way things are right now. You feel stuck in a rut in your life, and you need something to change. That change is coming. God isn't done with you yet. He set out to do great things with you, and He won't give up on you.

4. Someday you'll understand

"Jesus answered him, 'What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.'" John 13:7

No one can say it better than Jesus did in this verse. You don't understand now but you will. What God is doing in your life right now, He is doing for a reason. Trust Him that He has your best interest at heart.

5. Look up.

"I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth." Psalms 121:1-2

When you don't know where else to turn, when you don't know what to do next or where to go, look to God. He is the one who will see you through, faithfully, every time.

6. Nothing can make God stop loving you.

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:37-39

I don't care what you've done in your life. I don't care what sins you've committed, or how far you've fallen. God loves you as His child, as His creation. You are God's own, and nothing will ever come between you and His love for you.

7. The time for it is coming.

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace." Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Be patient. The answer you're waiting for, the reward you've earned, the relief you're seeking, they're all coming. Just be still. The time is coming.

8. Faith does.

"He said to them, 'For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.'" Matthew 17:20

Faith is what will get you to the place you're seeking. Faith is what will help your dreams come true. In faith, you can find healing and peace. As cliché as it sounds, faith conquers all.

9. God is with you right now.

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." Psalms 34:18

You aren't alone in what you're going through. God is with you in your struggles as much as He is with you in your triumphs. Reach out to God when you're at your darkest, and He will be your light.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
