I absolutely love my on-campus jobs. The people I work with are amazing, and I couldn't ask for better bosses. Sometimes, though, I have down time that I don't always know what to do with. If you're like me, I hope you find this article helpful and that this list will come in handy the next time you need inspiration of what to do.
1. Color
I am a firm believer that coloring is one of the best stress relievers. Grab some scrap paper and a pen or get fancy with some markers and doodle for a little bit. It'll definitely reduce stress and you can also create something beautiful.
2. Do homework in advance
I know this sounds lame, but trust me, it is worth it. Doing your homework in advance will make it so that you don't have five papers to get done in three days, and your future self will thank you so much.
3. Catch up on emails
Getting back to people in a timely manner is important. I also use this time to send my dad's work email random messages, because he finds it funny.
4. Plan a vacation
Even if you don't have the funding, planning a trip to a far off place is always fun! It's a good way to spend your time and might even inspire you to start saving for the adventure of a lifetime.
5. Apply to some internships
Check out a website like internhub.com or internships.com or set up an appointment with the career center! Internships are great ways to earn valuable experience in the workplace and also boost your resume.
6. Set up a LinkedIn
Creating a LinkedIn can help you with the step above as well as give you a new platform to build professional connections. The website is easy to navigate, too!
7. Create a new Pinterest Board
Make a new board for fun things to do in the summer, your room for next year, fitness motivation, or anything else you might be interested in! Pinterest has a lot to offer, especially delicious recipes! Give it a try :)
8. Write your friends letters
Everyone loves receiving good old fashioned "snail mail." Take fifteen minutes to write to a friend who goes to another school or surprise your parents with a letter instead of the normal text updates. It will be fun to do and will mean a lot to the person who receives it!
9. Online shop
When all else fails in life, choose your favorite store and indulge in some retail therapy. Even if you don't end up buying anything, online shopping is always a good time.
I hope these ideas help you keep busy on your next slow day at the office! Comment your own suggestions below.
