9 Things All Odyssey Writers Know To Be True

Writing for the Odyssey is a lot of fun. I enjoy writing articles and seeing people's interactions on social media with them. Writing is one of my favorite things and the Odyssey provides a great platform to voice my opinions on endless topics. Here are 9 things all Odyssey authors know to be true:

1. Making article deadlines.

Meeting article deadlines is easier some weeks than others.

2. The excitement when your article first publishes.

You love to see the final product in all its glory and read it another seven times.

3. Seeing people's comments.

It either goes like this:

Or like this:

4. Creating Meta tags.

There are so many possible ones.

5. Getting the slug you want and not getting the slug you want.

Sometimes the slug suggestions just aren't what you were looking for.

6. Coming up with the perfect title.

This is so important to your article and coming up with the perfect title can sometimes be stressful; but sometimes they come to you and you just know that it's perfect.

7. Reading other Odyssey writer's articles.

You have a special bond even if you don't know them because you both understand writing and the Odyssey. You are also more likely to read an article if it is by another Odyssey author.

8. Love for writing.

We all have a passion for writing, whether it be a hobby, job, or major.

9. Being proud to write for such a great content platform.

The Odyssey has provided a great writing opportunity for me and I'm so glad that I joined this community.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
