The Thanksgiving holiday can leave many of us bored, twiddling our thumbs when the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade ends and the feast is still underway. You might convince yourself that maybe this is the year you will actually help with the cooking or you will actively engage in social interactions with your aging, Facebook-plagued relatives.

But those promising aspirations are quickly chucked into a dumpster bin when you realize you can't even open the cranberry sauce or logically converse about the Earth being flat.

Consult this list whenever you find yourself alone on Turkey Day (with a stable internet connection, of course).

1. "House of Yes" (1997)

A dysfunctional family with morbid secrets reunite for Thanksgiving dinner while a hurricane rages outside of their magnanimous estate.

2. "Hannah and Her Sisters" (1986)

Family conflicts and love triangles invade an ensemble cast of characters throughout two consecutive Thanksgiving gatherings.

3. "The Blind Side" (2009)

A homeless and traumatized boy gains a new life from a new family, transforming into an American football icon as a result.

4. "Gossip Girl" (2007) - "Blair Waldorf Must Pie!"

In this Thanksgiving special -which takes place within the first season of Gossip Girl- audience members learn the troubling past of Blair Waldorf, as well as the friendship between Dan, Serena, and Blair. Fast forward to present-day and Blair is frustrated with the absence of her father. Dan and Serena witness a strange exchange between their respected parents.

5. "That 70s Show" (1998) - "Thanksgiving"

Bob offers Red a job while Laurie entertains a house-guest. Eric and Donna experience tension as Eric is left awestruck by his temporary roommate. The gang reunites for pie.

6. "Modern Family" (2011) - "Punkin Chunkin"

Mitchell does not believe in Cam's "Punkin Chunkin" story. Manny's Thanksgiving centerpiece causes a stir with Jay and Gloria. A former neighbor, who is now wealthy, returns for a visit.

7. "Cheers" (1986) - "Thanksgiving Orphans"

Carla hosts a grand Thanksgiving feast in her new home for Norm and the regular gang. The festivities quickly turn sour and causes a glorious food fight.

8. "Friends" (1998) - "The One With All The Thanksgivings"

The gang reminiscences about their youthful Thanksgivings, as they gather for Monica's banquet. They depict humorous cringe-worthy moments as a result.

9. "Mad Men" (2012) - "Dark Shadows"

Betty suffers through her Weight Watchers program while envying the adoration Don exudes for his second wife, Megan. After risking a binge on a can of whipped cream, Betty sabotages the lovebirds by using Don and Betty's daughter, Sally, with untold family secrets.

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
