As the summer approaches, it means that it's time to go back home for the summer. Many of you were probably dreading it just as much as I was. Before you go home, you have to go through move-out day, while it isn't as stressful as move-in day, there are still some struggles you will go through.

1. Procrastination

If you're anything like me you probably put off packing until the day you had to move out. I didn't have any boxes or anything to pack my stuff in. So I had to wait for my mom to bring boxes down before I could pack anything up.

2. Clutter

You never really realize how much stuff you have until you have to pack it all up. I went through and threw out so much stuff, but somehow still had more stuff than when I moved in. I guess I collected a lot of free stuff throughout the course of the year.

3. Disgust

I cleaned my room pretty often throughout the year, but I guess I never really cleaned it good enough. Before moving out I had to wipe down every inch of my room, and let me just tell ya, it was not a pretty sight.

4. Getting everything out of the room

After you finally have everything packed up, you now have to get it down to your car. Every dorm is different but in my case, I had to walk down a flight of stairs and then wait for an elevator. Then when I got into an elevator, tons of people had to cram in with all of their stuff... not fun.

5. Packing up the car

This is just one big game of tetras. You just have to pray that everything is going to fit.

6. Getting home

It's such a nice feeling to finally be home after a long day of moving boxes. When I got home, I just left everything in the car to deal with the next day.

7. Unloading the car

When it was the next day I had to unload the car, which is just as bad as loading it up. At this point, my whole family was so over moving boxes that I ha to unload all of my stuff by myself, thanks, guys.

8. No room for ANYTHING

I had to bring everything to my room and I quickly realized that I have no room for any of the things I brought home.

9. Relaxation

Finally, after all of the packing, moving, driving, and unloading it's time to relax and enjoy the summer before it's time to do it all again in three months.

Although moving out of the dorms can be stressful, it's not as bad as move-in day was. I'll see you all in the fall!

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
