Summer has come to an end. As I reflect back on all that has happened this summer, I have realized that summer really does have its ups and downs. Us students go through an array of emotions as these three months pass us by.
Stage One: Excitement
It's the last day of school and the final bell just rang. I am officially on summer break! I throw my papers in the air with joy, say a final goodbye to all my friends, and say "hello" to summer!
Stage Two: Preparation
It's time to start working out. I've got to have the perfect summer body!
Day one: Run 5 miles, bike 18 miles, and weight training
Day two: Run 5 miles, bike 18 miles, and weight training
Day three: Can you hand me those potato chips?
Stage Three: Staying Busy
My schedule is packed for the next couple weeks. Pool party on Monday, Shopping on Tuesday, laser tag on Wednesday, movie date on Thursday, birthday party on Friday, mini golf on Saturday, and lunch with my friends on Sunday!
Stage Four: The Coma
It's finally time to catch up on all that sleep. This morning, I woke up at noon. I got a record breaking 13 hours of sleep!
Stage Five: Netflix
Let's see what new movies are on Netflix. Okay... none of these are good movies. Oh! How about if I watch a TV show? Gossip Girl looks pretty good! And after that I'll watch New Girl! And then Friends. And then The Office. And then...
Stage Six: Boredom
I have nothing to do. I've hung out with everyone I know and I've watched every movie and TV show on Netflix. Do I dare... read a book?
Stage Seven: Heat
It is too hot to do anything. I just checked the weather and it is almost 100 degrees outside!
Stage Eight: Panic
There are three days left in summer and I feel like I haven't accomplished anything. My only choice is to make the most of these three days. So here's the plan: I shall learn how to play the trumpet, do some yoga, learn how to speak French, and go skydiving. I should be able to do all of that in three days, right?
Stage Nine: Excitement (again)
It's the first day of school and I am oddly excited. Even though I'll miss summer, I know this is going to be a great year. So here's to senior year!
