9 (Sort Of) Fun Things To Do In Charleston, Ill.

Being a student at Eastern Illinois University makes you realize that there is a very limited selection of fun activities to do in Charleston, Illinois. Here's a list of things to do if you're actually dying of boredom.

1. Catch a movie at the Union.

If you're in the mood to watch a mediocre movie that's about a year old, head on down to the Union. I honestly couldn't tell you where in the Union these movies play, but I know they're there.

2. Go to the gym.

What's more fun than an exhilarating workout at the Rec?

3. Throw some strikes at the campus bowling alley.

If you love old bowling shoes and cheap pizza, this is the activity for you!

4. Go on a walk around campus.

If you are trying to kill 10 minutes, walk from Lawson to Old Main and back.

5. Go swimming at the Rec Center's pool.

Do people even swim there?

6. Check out an EIU sporting event.

You can cheer on your favorite team with all 10 other fans!

7. Take a cruise on the P-Bus.

Nothing screens "fun" more than a crowded ride on the Panther Shuttle.

8. Walk around Lake Charleston.

I guess Charleston nature is cool.

9. Lay in your bed and watch Netflix.

Sadly, this is probably as good as it's going to get in good ol' Charleston, IL.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
