9 Songs That Should Be In Awesome Mix Vol. 2

With the teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 being released, I think it is time to speculate what could be on the soundtrack. We know a couple songs that were on the mix tape that Star-Lord was given by his mother before being abducted in 1988. This list is completely fan-made, and it is only what I think would be a great Awesome Mix Volume 2.

1. "Princes of the Universe" by Queen

This anthem of self-defiance is perfect to welcome back the rag-tag heroes that we met back in 2014. I could totally see this song being used in the opening scene. With the fast chorus, the Guardians could be caught in a battle or something as equally thrilling. It would create even more excitement to see what is to come.

2. "Baby I Need Your Loving" by The Four Tops

It was clear in the first film how much Peter's mom loved Motown. This love song could be used in a funny scene involving Peter and Gamora.

3. "Don't Fear The Reaper" by the Blue Oyster Cult

This quirky, yet haunting tune could be a useful song to introduce the villain (who is unknown as of yet) or even Yondu who seems to a bigger role.

4. "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" by the Temptations

So, Kurt Russell was cast as Peter's father. This is the man that left his family on Earth, and is also, not human. There is going to be a lot of daddy issues in this movie. This darker Motown song perfectly captures this feeling of sadness and betrayal.

5."Harden My Heart" by Quarterflash

This songs is about moving on from a tough situation. I have a feeling that the group may be split for some time. This songs could work with any of the guardians, but I think it could be great with Gamora.

6. "Space Oddity" or "Life On Mars?" by David Bowie

No matter what, there will be another David Bowie in the sequel. There was even a chance that we was going to cameo in the movie. Anyway, I feel either of these songs could work in the movie. There is just a special feel to all of Bowie's songs, that it is so hard to choose. Honestly, any Bowie song would be a wonderful addition to the soundtrack.

7. "Jukebox Hero" by Foreigner

This rock anthem could be the way to show Peter getting out of a personal funk and to re-discover who is he is. Out of all the Marvel heroes, Star-Lord is the true Jukebox Hero.

8. "All Fired Up" by Pat Benatar

A badass song to go with a badass climatic battle. Can I say more?

9. "Come Sail Away" by Styx

Funny enough, this song played in the car ride from the theater when my dad and I saw the first movie. He mentioned how this would be a good song for the next movie. Well, Dad, I agree. This song would be so perfect to end the sequel with! Just listen to it, and you will see why.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
