10 Signs That Your Best Friend Is Like The Sister You Never Had
Delaney Swift

Not having a sister of my own used to bother me, but now I know what it's like to have one. My best friend is the closest thing I have to a sister. We fight and we know each other's flaws, but we only want the best for each other. The best part is, we chose to be this way. I know I can count on her at any point in time. Looking back of the years of our friendship, I can tell that she's more than just a friend, she's like the sister I never had.

If you have a similar person in your life, you will probably relate to these 10 signs.

1. You argue like sisters.

The two of you bicker all the time. You can be honest with each other without anything changing between you two when the argument is over.

2. You do everything together.

Going to the grocery store, going to sleep, watching TV, you name it!

3. You know each other’s flaws.

You know what she hates about herself and what she wishes she could change. You know you should just never go there…

4. She tells you when you are being ridiculous.

When she is dramatic, you have no problem telling her. You know how she can be and you’re not afraid to tell her like it is!

5. You can tell her anything and she will never look at you differently.

You two talk about anything and everything. “Look at how much hair I just pulled off of my brush.” “Oh my god, feel my legs. They’re so hairy!” “Look at this pimple, do you think it’s ready to pop?”

6. She would drop anything for you and you would do the same.

When hard things happen in life, whether big or small, she’s there. She’ll drive miles or move mountains to get to you if you are hurting. Nothing can stop her from being there when things go wrong.

7. She’ll be the first to make fun of you.

If you’ve got something in your teeth, she’ll be the first to call you out in public. If you fall and make a fool of yourself, she’ll be the first to laugh (and then make sure you’re OK).

8. You never have to worry about not having clothes to wear.

She’s always got your back. Whether she likes it or not, you are going to steal your favorite shirt out of her closet and wear it like your own.

9. She supports all your bad decisions.

If you decide you want to make stupid choices, she won't make you feel bad about it. She'll be right by your side making that same stupid choice just so you won't look like an idiot doing it by yourself.

10. She just gets you.

She knows you better than you know yourself. Sometimes you hate to admit it, but she knows when you are sad and she knows how to fix it.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
