Girls come in all shapes and sizes and of all colors and varieties. We all face our own battles on daily basis; however, there is a special war that short girls face: the fight against their own height. Sure, there are a few perks to being short, but there are more than a handful of things that short girls deal with every day. Here are 9 things all shorties can relate to.
1. We Can't Reach Things At The Store
Those things on the top shelf at Walmart or Target? Yeah, short girls never buy those things. In fact, we've learned to live without them. If we can't reach it, we don't need it.
2. We Can't Put Things Back On A Shelf
On the off chance that we somehow did manage to pry something off of a shelf with a nearby hanger or pen, there is no hope of getting it back on the shelf from whence it came. It is yours now. For forever.
3. Our Pants Never Fit Just Right
They're always too long. The length creates little pant socks, often tripping you up of you dare remove your shoes. Because of the length they ripping at the edges, and they end up looking years old unless you fold the hems.
4. We Always Have To Look Up At People
Short girls understand the struggle of constantly craning their necks to keep up with conversation with some dude from the basketball team, or to watch out for tall clumsy giants who aren't watching out for shorties.
5. Our Feet Never Touch The Ground When We Sit Down
Couches and barstools are your worst enemies. They only highlight how short you are. There's no possible way to look mature and sophisticated with your feet swinging like a kindergartner in elementary school working on a coloring book.
6. People Miss Us In A Crowd
If you're a fan of concerts, raves, or ever going out into public with large groups, you know that you're always the one who gets lost. Not because you're not trying to stay with the group, but because you're just so darn small and easy to lose and forget about. Not to mention your giant friend's giraffe legs constantly leaping bounds ahead of you.
7. We Have To Run To Catch Up With Our Walking Friends
It always seems that for every one step of theirs, you have to take three. eventually this means that you have to do that super unattractive awkward shuffle/walk/jog to keep up with them.
8. Hugs Are Difficult
Being short means that when people give you hugs, they either have to lean down to your level, or you get a face full of their chest. The ultimate dreaded alternative is for them to bring you to their level, by picking you up, legs swinging and all. This is the short girls forever nightmare.
9. Restaurant Tables Are Too High
Is it just me, or is every restaurant table just a little bit too high, and just a little bit too far from reach for short girls? For all my five foot gals out there, I feel you.
