9 Reasons Why One Tree Hill Will Always Be The Best Show Ever
One Tree Hill

September 23, 2003 should really become a national holiday.

This is the date of the first ever "One Tree Hill" episode. Not only was it the series premiere, but it was also the start of one of the largest fan bases of any TV show. I'd like to consider myself a Netflix junkie so I am constantly on the lookout for a great series to binge watch while I'm avoiding life's responsibilities. About a year ago, one of my close friends kept raving on about "One Tree Hill" and how good it was. She kept telling me I needed to watch it because "it's literally the best show ever" and boy was she right. I had heard about One Tree Hill many times before, but it just didn't seem like a series I would enjoy. She kept telling me to give it a chance, so I did, and I am SOhappy I did! I will admit though, the first episode or two were a little slow so I didn't have much faith in it at first, but stick with it; I promise you won't regret it.

1. There is something for everyone

Whether you like romance, comedy, drama, or suspense, "One Tree Hill" has it all. There really are no dull moments.

2. Strong female characters

There is no bond like the one between Brooke, Peyton, and Haley. These three female characters knew how to stand their ground and get what they want. Basically, they're total badasses.

3. Major squad goals

Don't get me wrong, I love the friends I have and wouldn't trade them for the world, but nothing compares to the friendships in "One Tree Hill". Of course there's drama, but at the end of the day, nothing can break their friendships.

4. It's relatable

One Tree Hill has every type of character in the book. The mean popular girl, the shy nerdy girl, the popular jock who gets all the girls, and the one who's into music and art. It shows the struggles of high school and life outside of school that many people can relate to in real life.

5. Chad Michael Murray

Need I say more?

6. James Lafferty

You'll thank me later.

7. The best love triangle ever

Or maybe it's more of a love pentagon? Either way, there's someone breaking up or getting back together like everyday.

8. Naley.

AKA Nathan Scott and Haley James. The most perfect couple ever and the couple that I aspire to be with my future husband. They're two completely opposite people who became lovers and went through some dark times together, but through it all, their love for each other conquered everything.

9. It gives you hope

Every character in "One Tree Hill" goes through very hard challenges. Whether it be death, sickness, or depression, these are all very real things that people experience. It reminds us that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
