9 Reasons Why Moms Rock

There are so many reasons to be thankful for these wonderful women. Here are just nine of the thousands of reasons why.

1. We are the same person

From finishing each others sentences to looking at each other and being completely aware of what the other is thinking, we never miss a beat. I know I can always come to my mom for an opinion that I know will be similar to m own. And so the saying reigns true: “like mother like daughter.”

2. She is incredibly strong

I don’t know anyone else who could endure what my mom has all whilst remaining sane and determined to achieve her goals. When most people take on hardships, it’s common for these individuals to lose all will to try anymore. But, my mom strives on. She has the heart of a lion and the fight of a soldier.

3. She is gracious

Let’s be real, we put our moms through hell sometimes. Even though it hurts them, they continue to put us first no matter what. That grace is what makes our moms so beautiful. No matter how many times we fail her, she continues to pour out her love.

4. She is selfless

I remember every time I wanted the last bite, she let me have it. Every time I wanted to watch the movie I wanted that she could care less about, she let me choose. Every time I went through the phase where I wanted to go with my friends instead of follow through on our plans, she let me. Why? Because our moms are relentlessly selfless. No matter what it is, they will without a doubt always put us first. Their love outweighs their own desires.

5. She has a heart of gold

The compassion mothers have is truly unreal. From carrying a human being in her stomach for nine months to continually carrying that same human through life for years to come, it’s not for the coldhearted. Every day our moms prove their undying love for us more and more by their actions, words, and hugs of course.

6. She will always give the best advice

No matter what the situation is, you know you can always call your mom. Never will she say she does not want to help you on whatever you are going through. For she actually does want for you to succeed, and she will provide you with the words of wisdom in order for you to do so.

7. She will always comfort you

Life is not easy. When people jokingly say, “life is hard,” it’s actually one of those sarcastic statements where people have truth behind it. Hardships occur, and these are never easy. So, it’s never foreign to need a little hug and love from Mom. She always knows just what to say.

8. She is the ultimate role model

Growing up, I was always asked who was my role model. I never once did not say, my mom. She is the epitome of grace, love, strength, and a Godly woman. I hope I can be half of the woman she is one day.

9. She is my best friend

Aside from all of the parental responsibilities and discipline, we are best friends. We laugh so hard our stomachs hurt and never fail to eat just a little too much.

Moms can be underappreciated so easily because they have become such a commonality. But, these special women are actually superheroes. It’s amazing all that they can accomplish and continue to accomplish daily.

Thank you for being the best mom you can be.

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life.
