9 Reasons Why Going To A SEC School Is The Greatest Decision You Will Ever Make

High school seniors deciding where they're going to continue their education are faced with a difficult decision. They're deciding where they want to spread their wings and grow as a person. If they ask any of us who chose a school in the SEC, we will stand by our decision one-hundred percent. We're so passionate about the colleges in the Southeastern Conference for a number of reasons.

9. The Size

Some might say it's overwhelming, but those who have attended these great universities know that the size of the student body isn't scary. It's actually pretty fun. The more the merrier, right?

8. The Greek Life

If greek life is something you're interested in, there is nothing quite like greek life in the SEC.

7. The Opportunities

Greek life isn't for you? Well good news, there's plenty of opportunities to get involved all over the campuses. From church small groups to SGA, there's something out there for everyone in such large universities such as those in the SEC.

6. The South

This goes without saying, right? Those who live in the South will agree, nothing compares. The weather, the sweet tea, the southern charm... Good luck finding a greater place to reside.

5. The Recognition

There isn't anything better than the pride you feel when someone asks you where you go to college. There's never a time when someone replies "Where is that? I've never heard of that college." And sometimes you overhear people talking about your college, whether it's about sports or academics, and all you do is get giddy and want to yell, "Yeah! That's my school!"

4. The Academics

There's a reason people go down south for higher education.

3. The Football

It's cliche and obvious, but one of the best things about SEC schools is the football. Until you've experienced it, you'll never understand. There's something about Saturdays in the fall that brings us joy like we're seven years old and it's Christmas morning.

2. The Tradition

This goes hand-in-hand with the football. We roll trees, ring cow bells, sing choruses, and kiss when we score. The traditions are what makes SEC schools, SEC schools.

1. The Best of the Best

There's a reason alumni always return. They return to talk about their glory days and to cheer on their alma mater. They return because the schools of Southeastern Conference are best schools out there. It's something in the atmosphere. It's something you cannot describe.

Sorority

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
