The best season of the year is finally upon us! Bring on the cool nights and pumpkin spice latte's as we talk about the 9 reasons why fall is the best season of the year.

  1. Halloween moviesWhether it's Halloweentown High or Hocus Pocus or the Addam's Family Values, everyone has their favorite Halloween movie. And if you're anything like me, your childhood in October was spent with putting up tacky decorations and watching Bette Midler chase a couple of nosy kids around Salem. And how can we forget ABC's "13 Nights of Halloween", (now known as Freeform's "13 Nights of Halloween)? We all know that that tv station was forever playing during the month of October.
  2. Fall Foliage Bright oranges and reds and yellows are everywhere you look. Nothing could possibly capture the beauty of the fall outdoors! Scenic hikes and fall nights were made all the more wonderful by these bright colors.
  3. Pumpkin everythingForget pumpkin spice latte's, fall is pumpkin everything! Pumpkin pies and pumpkin seeds and visits to pumpkin patches. This orange staple of fall is ready to take the farmer's markets by storm!
  4. Fall Fashion I am 100% sure there is nothing greater than snuggling up in a cozy sweater, beanie, and boots. No matter where you live, you can't escape the onslaught of the fall fashion scene.
  5. Country DrivesA long drive on backgrounds is one of the world's best relaxants. There is no better day spent than one with the windows rolled down, country music blaring, and the fall foliage falling around you.
  6. Football Season: They are called "the boys of fall" for a reason! Fall is football season for many of us here in the United States. Your Friday nights are spent at the local football stadium cheering for your team, and we all know that our weeks are marked by who plays who.
  7. BonfiresS'mores and hotdogs and laughs over a big bonfire is another one of those perks of fall. How else are you supposed to stay warm in the rapidly cooling temperatures?
  8. Apple Cider Hot apple cider on a cool fall day is one of the greatest pleasures that a person can experience. It's made all the better when you pair it with a fresh apple pie and apples that you picked out at the local orchard! Whether you stay inside or go to a fall festival, this fall staple is sure to be a hit.
  9. Scary Mazes Whether it's a haunted house or a corn maze, these Halloween traditions are one of the greatest parts of fall. You're lying to yourself if you haven't wanted a boyfriend or a girlfriend in the month of October just to go to one of these events.

With all of these great reasons and so many more, how could fall not be the best season of all?

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
