9 Reasons Why My Dog Is My Best Friend

There's something special about dogs that make them the ultimate best friend. Maybe it's that they aren't human, or maybe it's that they don't judge you even at your worst times. Personally, I wouldn't be the person I am now if I didn't adopt my little pal. He's been by my side during the craziest times in my life so far and has only made them better. It's said that people are born to learn how to love and be kind, but dogs already know how to do that so they don't stay with us as long. If I could have it my way, I would keep my dog forever. This article is for you, buddy!

1. He never leaves my side.

Whether I'm just sitting on the couch or I'm running around my house trying to get stuff done, my dog is always by my side.

2. He's my personal vacuum.

I never have to worry about accidentally dropping a piece of food on the floor and making a mess because nine times out of ten my dog will have caught whatever I dropped in his mouth.

3. He's always overly excited to see me.

Whenever I come home for a weekend I can always look forward to being greeted with puppy kisses.

4. He's always down for a run, hike, or walk.

It doesn't matter if it's thundering and lightning or if it's snowing, my dog is always more than willing to go out and explore with me.

5. He cheers me up when I'm having a bad day.

Whenever I'm in a bad mood, my dog will come and sit next to me and whine until I smile. I don't know why he does it or how it really works, but it does.

6. He always looks out for me.

I swear my dog puts my life before his own. If that's not love, I don't know what is.

7. He's the best co-pilot for any adventure.

Whether it's just to the grocery store or it's a long road trip, he's ready for any adventure.

8. He never complains about taking selfies with me.

If I had to guess, I would say that almost half of my camera roll is pictures of me and my dog.

9. He doesn't judge.

He doesn't care about what I look like when I wake up, and he doesn't judge me for eating an entire pint of ice cream in one sitting. He accepts me for who I am.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
