Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, known as the City of Champyinz AND the City of Bridges, is a must see city on your journey to wherever you're going. Whether you were born and raised here, or have family here, you know that this city is one of the best in the country. Now it's just time you admit it!

1. Sports.

Not only are the Steelers 6x Super Bowl Champs (HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!), but the Penguins (LET'S GO PENS!) and Pirates (LET'S GO BUCCOS!) each have five championships under their belt. Whether or not you like sports, attending any of these events is always a great time.

2. Entertainment.

Obviously when you visit somewhere you want something fun to do. Lucky for you, Pittsburgh has a great amusement park; Kennywood! In fact, the park is still one of "America's Finest Traditional Amusement Parks."

3. Food.

Okay, now who doesn't like food?? Exactly, no one. Well thank goodness, Pittsburgh has a lot of it. Mainly known for it's signature Primanti's Sandwiches (coleslaw and french fries on a HUGE sandwich, WHO DOESN'T WANT ONE?) and our delicious pierogis.

4. History.

Everyone loves a good history lesson too, and Pitt is full of it. Home of Heinz Condiments (stop at the history museum for more Heinz), Klondike, and the first Big Mac, Pittsburgh will fulfill your taste buds and knowledge at the same time.

5. Looks.

What's cooking, good looking? As shown in the famous scene from "Perks of Being a Wallflower," the skyline of Pittsburgh is breath-taking. Also shown in "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Fences" viewers get to see different shots of the beautiful city. Now why wouldn't you want to see it in person?

6. Incline.

What goes up, must come down. As you ride the incline up to Mount Washington, tourists and locals can enjoy the view of the city from the observation deck. At the bottom, they enjoy our most famous part of town, Station Square.

7. Water.

Located at the most east point of town is where three rivers meet, the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio. Here we have seen concerts, pep-rallies, festivals and the famous Duck. Capturing the view of PNC Park and 4/446 bridges the city has, you must stop here and take photos.

8. Museums.

We love Andrew Carnegie here in Pittsburgh, and show it through the countless museums. The Carnegie Museum of Art, Natural History and Pittsburgh are not the only ones. But if you want to fill your knowledge on science, stop in at the Carnegie Science Center. The city also has the Andy Warhol museum, Randyland and Mattress Factory.

9. Steel.

"We built this city on rock and roll," actually false. We built this city on steel; known for it's major steel companies, industries and mills, Pittsburgh was producing half the nation's steel in the early 1900s.

By the end of your visit, you will be bleeding Back & Gold.

10 Truths About Being In A Sorority

(For Girls Who Are Interested In Greek Life)

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
